Outfit Locked?

I have a different outfit for each attribute (Dangerous, Shadowy etc.) and whenever there is a challenge based on this I switch outfits. I am currently in a place where there is very little screaming, and I am able to swap outfits. Perhaps this is a glitch, perhaps this changed in the update?
