On the eastern bank of the river they call the Lys, Burgundy is knotted into a labyrinth of chapels, churches, and shadowed beguinages.

Away from the riverside and the blazing fires of the guild halls, the city is dark and cramped. Watched by empty niches and looming spires, both mendicant orders and vagrants alike eke out a living from the darkness.

Airs of BurgundyDescription
2 - 16You come upon a church strangled by enormous plants, stalks as wide as sequoias twining through broken stained glass. There doesn't appear to be any way inside. Nonetheless, you hear organ music, and the sound of someone singing.
22 - 33Near the edge of the labyrinth, you find a church of silver-blue stone. A bevy of smaller chapels cling to its flank, each with the insignia of a different guild above their doorways. […] A Tapestry-Moth flits through a windowless opening, […]
46 - 60You run into a nobleman, entering a chapter house. While unassuming, the interior is far more richly appointed than others within the tangle […] His touch leaves something sticky on your arm, as if his hands were skinned with cobwebs.
61 - 80You pass an anchorite's chamber, bricked up against the flank of an undedicated chapel. Odd noises from within: a soft sucking noise, punctuated by wet 'Thooo' vocalisations. The air here smells of lemon.
81 - 100This chapel is empty of the usual articles of faith. No cross, no scenes from the gospels, no images of crucifixion. Instead there is a map of the city, and the ruling house's coat of arms.
