This guide exists to provide a summary of various FATE-locked content. Exceptional Stories are covered by the separate Exceptional Stories (Guide). Below you can find information on:

The guide focuses on being a complete and informative list of FATE uses, not just the best ones. For the latter, you can refer to the player survey.

How to add choices and rewards?

• FATE stories...
  • ...which have their wiki pages: fill the Reward summary parameter of the {{Fatestory}} template on their wiki page.
  • ...which have no wiki pages (like parts of some Christmas investigations): use {{FateStorySummary}} in the "Other FATE-locked storylines" section.
• FATE-locked actions:
  • If listing the immediate rewards is enough, add the rewards to the corresponding page and use {{FateActionSummaryAuto}} in the "FATE-locked choices" section.
  • If not, use {{FateStorySummary}} in the "FATE-locked choices" section.

What is to be mentioned?

1. Mechanical rewards:
   • Can anything unique or rare be obtained?
     • This excludes the majority of T1-T6 items. Currently the only exceptions are items whose other repeatable sources are strictly seasonal or Hellworm-based.
     • Complete mechanical information is beyond the scope of this guide. Nevertheless, more specific guides in the manner of the Flute Street one are permitted.
   • What permanent activities or cards are unlocked?
   • Use {{Reward}} templates before the rewards you mention:

  Your aunt returned to the surface some time ago, hounded by scandal and devils. She has written you a letter. It seems she has a marvellous business idea, and seeks your help.

  Overview:

  The storyline is progressed through Standard Frequency cards. At the end, you must decide on a profession for your aunt, which determines your primary reward.

  • One of three Standard Frequency cards with a 30% Luck challenge that refreshes 10 actions on success. The cost and failure results are different for each ending. Items are only consumed upon failure. All three cards are locked if the player has Woeful:

  This story provides five new beasts to breed at the Labyrinth of Tigers, with two requiring Flute Street, as well as an ending to the monster-breeding storyline in the Labyrinth of Tigers. The beasts are:

  • The Slavering Dream-Hound, a Companion with +4 Shadowy and +4 Dangerous.
  • The Obdurate Stallion, a Transport with +2 Dreaded.
  • The Corresponding Ocelot, a Companion with +5 Watchful and +5 Persuasive. Can additionally be used while staffing a newspaper.
  • With Flute Street, the Ocular Toadbeast, a Companion with +6 Shadowy.
