Old Resurrection (Guide)
| Early Firmament Content and Onwards |
This is a guide for establishing a Roof trading network, culminating in unlocking a weekly trade-in for various rewards.
Beginning[edit]
In order to start, you will need to complete one round of The Midnight Trade and meet Old Resurrection. Play through the actions presented in the storylet, agreeing to her proposition. You will receive
A Crabbed List of Contacts, Leads and Likely Opportunities, with which you will be able to reach out to contacts at the next few stations. The first four outposts may be established in any order, while the fifth can only be done after the rest.
Zenith[edit]
To establish an outpost in Zenith, you need to Approach an Approximate Astronomer in the storylet The Peripheries of Zenith. That gives
A Trading Post at Zenith 1, unlocking the storylet, A Trading Post at Zenith: False Lights and False-Stars. This allows you to fill Mirrorcatch Boxes with Violant, to unlock the other trades you need to raise
A Trading Post at Zenith further.
A Trading Post at Zenith 2 requires
5,000 x Stuiver (Cover the Astronomer's initial costs)
A Trading Post at Zenith 3 requires
8 x Ratwork Mechanism,
5 x Memory of Moonlight, and
5 x Hillmover (Clear the way into a violant reservoir)
Note you need to raise
A Trading Post at Zenith to 3 before being able to report it as complete to Old Resurrrection.
Burgundy[edit]
To establish an outpost in Burgundy, first raise
Fuel for Glory's Fire to 3. With that and the list of contacts, The Woes of the Gall-Eyed Weaver is added to your Burgundy deck. Playing it adds the storylet The Gall-Eyed Weaver, Guildless, on which you need to spend
3,500 x Stuiver.
At that trading post, trades are made less directly than at all others. You will be able to supply the Gall-Eyed Weaver with mechanisms for her loom in the The One-Woman Weaver's Guild storylet, and receive payouts through getting A Delivery from the Gall-Eyed Weaver the Burgundy deck. The mechanisms she requests and the rewards and number of payouts for them are based on the quality
The Weaver's Visions, which goes in a fixed cycle of 1 to 4, then back to 1 again, every time you get all the payouts for one level. You only need to pay the cost once for each level of the
The Weaver's Visions.
| Cost | Reward | Payouts | |
|---|---|---|---|

The Sous[edit]
To establish an outpost in The Sous, you first need to Search for signs of life in the storylet The Sights and Sounds of the Sous. Then in the new storylet, Those Who Descend, progress through the conversation with the Parisians until you get the option to Offer them employment with the Candle-Men; then, you'll need to cover the costs:
5,000 x Stuiver
10 x Set of Workman's Clothes
500 x Nodule of Warm Amber
You also can Offer some of the stranded tracklayers employment for
5,000 x Fistful of Surface Currency, giving you a
A Parisian Contingent, but it's not required to progress the network.
Queeneater's Castle[edit]
To establish an outpost in Queeneater's Castle, in the storylet The Scribe at the Oriel Window you need to Ask him about Old Resurrection. After that, establishing an outpost requires:
2 x Captivating Ballad
10 x Touching Love Story
50 x Unusual Love Story
2,000 x Proscribed Material
| Action | Cost | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Commission a great tragedy | ||
| Commission a holy comedy |
Stonegift[edit]
Before pursuing Old Resurrection's last lead, you will need to raise
Acquaintance: Old Resurrection to 10. To do so, fully upgrade the four previous trading posts, then report back to Old Resurrection at
The Midnight Moon. Then, travel to Stonegift.
At Stonegift, play the action Examine the final entry under the storylet By the Name of 'Tower' (if you haven't raised
Acquaintance: Old Resurrection to 10, the action will be locked). After you play it, talk to The Parietal Scribe and Ask about 'Tower' (you seem to need to have
3 Tested Against the Quartz, even though the action doesn't say as such). In your next climb, you will see the option to Approach a secondary stalactite, unlocked with
70 Height Reached (see Scaling the Quartz (Guide) for advice on how to reach that).
Once you reach height 70 and play that option, progress through the conversation until your climb ends. Then, return to Midnight Moon and Inform Old Resurrection about Hillchanger Tower. Once that conversation is done, go to Stonegift again. In the Resurrection in the Tropics storylet, Ask for the particulars of her plan and Inquire about her previous visit, then Climb.
Once you climb, you will be greeted by the Hillchanger Tower and the Solicitor-Baroness. During the course of the conversation, the former agrees to join Old Resurrection's smuggling network if she takes back her guilts from it. You may try to Argue that you should accept the guilt, or you may Watch.
The story will eventually move you to Midnight Moon once again, where you will find the storylet Hillchanger and the Whale. Once you play through the options on it, you will have access to the weekly trade-in with Hillchanger.
Hillchanger Tower[edit]
Hillchanger Tower moves between the established outposts every Tuesday. When it is at a given Roof Station, you may go there and supply it with some of the materials that are produced by the corresponding outpost. Once the tower moves to a different outpost, you may go there and collect your reward (and turn in the next batch of goods).
