Success

Escapology

[...] one moment, it is horse-sized, the next, no bigger than a cat [...] you can see the beast at every point along the path it took, and onward from there, to when it will escape [...]

[...] dissolving into a cloud of burning sigils. [...]

[...] "I believe we have just found the cause."

Description summary:
Southwark happily wrestles the beast, while the Implacable Detective crouches behind a table. Its changing sizes are no obstacle, as the Bishop's size adjusts too. It ultimately changes to a non-solid and escapes through the window, burning holes through the glass. The Detective concludes it is the beast that's been affecting the rules of time, space, causality, and ontology.

Failure

Escapology

[...] It writhes and kicks fiercely, but the Bishop is a professional: one who has never dropped a single squirming baby in the baptismal font. [...]

The beast bubbles and boils, dissolving into a cloud of burning sigils. [...]

[...] "I believe we have just found the cause."
