On a Heist (Guide)/Cards

From Fallen London Wiki

Card overview[edit]

The following table gives an overview of the requirements to play cards safely, depending on your Heist difficulty.

Cards available on different difficulties. Table assumes no escape routes.
Heist Difficulty Always playable Has additional requirements Safe option requires Inside Information No safe option List of additional requirements
Shuttered 8 2 3 1
Triple-Bolted 6 2 4 2
Well-Guarded 4 4 4 2
Perilous 3 6 4 1

Cards sorted by Target Security:[edit]

The difficulty of the Heist is represented by the Target Security: quality. While some cards appear on any Heist, most cards only appear on certain difficulties. For the most part, a "basic" card from lower difficulties is replaced by an "advanced" card on higher difficulties. While there is no mechanical connection, many of the replacements are thematically connected. The table below shows how the composition of your deck will change with the difficulty.

Cells labeled "No Risk" correspond to a card being available that always has an option available which does not lower Cat-Like Tread. Other cells represent options, challenges, or resources needed to avoid losing Cat-Like Tread. Cells labeled with Cat-Like Tread do not have any way to avoid possible loss, and should be avoided.

1 represents a progress of 1 The Burglar's Progress. Percentages represent luck rolls that grant that much progress upon success.
