A guide to the locations of the Unterzee. This guide tries to wrap up what happens in each location on the Unterzee and how to get there. For Zailing mechanics: see Zailing (Guide).

Home Waters[edit]

Hunter's Keep[edit]

An action-intensive, dialogue-heavy carousel. Visit here for the writing, not the rewards. Be aware that subsequent rounds of the carousel unlock additional options. Most actions have challenges around 120 in Persuasive and Watchful.

Mutton Island[edit]

Mutton Island is mostly used during the FRUITS OF THE ZEE Festival, but also has some other niche uses.

Bullbone Island[edit]

Part of Embarking on a Voyage of Scientific Discovery. Note that outfits are locked on the island; you'll be wanting your watchful gear.

Feral Crocodile Hunting Grounds[edit]

With Monstrous Anatomy 5, a new zee hunt opens up in the waters surronding London. Slaying crocodiles can be a nice source of both Shard of Glim, Relic of the Second City, Tale of Terror!!, as well as probably being the easiest way to grind A Hunter of Zee-Beasts

Other Locations[edit]

Dr Vaughan's Hidden Encampment and Your Flotilla is only used in Ambition: Light Fingers!.

Shepherd's Wash[edit]

In this region, it's possible to gain Southern Wind by playing cards at zee. You initially need to Fix a looking-glass on The Mountain of Light. After this, options on The Wax-Wind will also increase your dreams.

Iron Republic Streets[edit]

To get here you need an Iron Republic Safe-Conduct from Counting the Days.

Heartscross House (Port Carnelian)[edit]

This location is needed to get admitted to Court again, but can also be a profitable source of various items. To visit, you must get Imperial Legitimacy in The Foreign Office.

The Court of the Wakeful Eye[edit]

This location requires you to have advanced the Dilmun Club Associating with Radical Academics storyline to the 5th coil of the Labyrinth of Tigers, and having a successful governorship in Heartscross House. This location is used for cashing in Tribute.

Aeschaven[edit]

Located on Godfall, Aeschaven can be unlocked by either playing a storylet at Wolfstack Docks or a card when zailing in Shepherd's Wash. Aeschaven is notably a decent source of Nodule of Warm Amber in the mid-game, as well as pilgrimage.

Angler Crab Spawning Grounds[edit]

Once in a while, there's a breeding season for Angler Crabs. If you have Monstrous Anatomy you may visit this area to hunt for crabs.

Other locations[edit]

Abbey's Rock is only used in Ambition: Bag a Legend! and Apis Meet (Guide) is used for Flint (FATE).

The Sea of Voices[edit]

All locations in this sea requires Screaming Map. See Cat and Mouse (Guide) for more info on this. Options on Listen to the Wind will increase any zee-dreams qualities you already possess.

Polythreme[edit]

This island is split in three locations: Polythreme Docks, Polythreme Streets and The Maze-Garden.

Ravenous Lifeberg Hunting Grounds[edit]

Ravenous Lifebergs continue their trek towards London here, after spawning in The Salt Steppes. If you have Monstrous Anatomy you may visit this area to hunt for Lifebergs.

Grunting Fen[edit]

Other locations[edit]

Mangrove College (Guide) requires The Mushroom's Dream (FATE).

The Salt Steppes[edit]

In order to travel here you must either know the location of the Khanate from another source, or you must travel through this location by traveling between two other zee-regions in the correct direction. The Eastern Wind is found in the Salt Steppes, by fixing a looking-glass on the horizon on A Distant Gleam

The Copper Quarter[edit]

The copper quarter is a part of the Khanate. All players may sell skeletons, gain Memory of Light (avg. 5.5 per action) or smuggle Unassuming Crates back to London for some extra profit. Players who have unlocked Balmoral and done some extra work may enter Khan's Heart and engage in Khaganian Intrigue.

Ravenous Lifeberg Hunting Grounds[edit]

Ravenous Lifebergs sometimes spawn in The Salt Steppes, drifting towards London through The Sea of Voices. If you have Monstrous Anatomy you may visit this area to hunt for Lifebergs.

The Pillared Sea[edit]

The only thing in this region is currently the Renown: Docks 40 item, but Irem will eventually have been here. She will rise from the zee and the ice like dawn. If you have discovered the Eastern Wind and/or the Northern Wind, these can be increased on Of the Pillars and Becalmed cards.

Stormbones[edit]

Northern Wind can be found in Stormbones, initially on the A Wind from the North card with the Listen to the wind option, subsequently also on options on the Sighting a Lifeberg card. Monster-Hunters will also have opportunities to slay life bergs.

Corpsecage Island[edit]

Part of Embarking on a Voyage of Scientific Discovery. Note that outfits are locked on the island; you'll be wanting your Watchful gear.

Port Cecil[edit]

A continuation of the Voyage of Scientific Discovery. Access is granted by playing an opportunity card in Stormbones, or using 8 x Partial Map in your inventory (in London).

Plated Seal Hunting Grounds[edit]

If you have Making Progress in the Labyrinth of Tigers 16 you may visit this area to hunt for seals. Note that you may only have one Seal at a time.

Avid Horizon and The Chapel of Lights[edit]

These locations are part of SMEN. Avid Horizon may also be accessed in the late-game with Watchful Gains.
