Even if you are willing to spend FATE on this story, <a href="/wiki/Hear_him_out,_but_protect_yourself_(6_FATE)" title="Hear him out, but protect yourself (6 FATE)">the Affectionate Devil's equivalent</a> gives one extra Dark-Dewed Cherry and costs 6 FATE instead of 7. There's just no reason to take this option.
