That sounds more just like your personal bias. "Within London's tastes" to me just suggests things are far more civil than they were during the Starved Invasion. Especially in regards to not breaking outright taboos. It seems the Starved Men actually want Londoners to feel comfortable around them, as opposed to doing the equivalent of running through the streets naked and screaming, just to show a juvenile sense of rebellion against societal norms.

Plus, unlike the Rubberies or the Clay Men, the Starved Men are only shown coming to London on their own terms, reasonably understood as opposed to the communication difficulties most people have with them (so no, your special little FLPC being able to speak fluent Rubbery doesn't matter), and they still have a home they can freely return to so they are by no means trapped in London. I highly doubt there's even a single indication of Starved Men being "colonialized" aside from your bias against a specific phrase. Those of us who actually care about Starved Men culture aren't worried about this at all.
