There is some extra text if you played the Exile's Chalice. It's just a text change, not a unique option:

A source of companionship

The Doomed Diver shakes their head. "He was sick, the Captain. His brain, you see, starved of oxygen it was. He burned hot as Hell as we made our return."

"During that voyage, he cried her name. Told me through the delirium that she'd offered to take him into her fold. To hold him tight and keep him safe." You recall your time on the island of Mereid, and how the people there bargained with Lady Black for their survival. She has been a drowning person's last hope before; perhaps she took pity on the Captain, too.

"Even if there was any truth to his babbling, I wanted no part of it. Nor the zee that had laid its claim on him. I left the ship next time we made port and never looked back. Until now – when I felt its calling. The dreams. When I felt... Well, that's no matter."
