Really nice diagram! Thanks.

I was actually considering writing poems at the palace to collect wax (6000 per Ode to the Elder Continent), which would also help towards the poet laureate. According to my calculations, and assuming 40-50 actions per poem, it would take 378-458 actions to write 8 of them and convert wax to scarabs and then to 1050 MoL. And 3 fine pieces and 15 CP making waves per poem.

Thanks for the diagram! It also provides a lot of information about other ventures. It made getting to the Khanates super simple. Made it there with 0 Zeefaring and 5 Troubled Waters.

Good to know that updates to the uploaded file update here too, huh.

Also, FallenCoepnhagen - what Inspired Source are you using, out of curiosity? (Just prefer double checking calcs before adding them to flowchart.)

I usually just hit Nature in the Neath. Based on the actual CPs, I see that to get all 595 CP I would need between 30 (if all rare hit) to 60 actions (if no rare hits). I think a guestimate would be that 40-50 I wrote, but it is of course partly random. Sometimes I try the A quiet day at your lodgings or Business at the Court but I haven't concluded if their rares are more frequent or not compared to the Nature in the Neath... I hope it makes sense.

If a may add to the rationale, I find that by sitting at Khanate for 200+ actions (I can't do the first option yet), I miss all the London action - favours, the occasional arbor visit, etc. Plus the waves and the fine pieces, I think it is a decent triple grind.

Yeah, have been meaning to add a symbol for "access to London deck" which are the actions you're missing out on, but haven't settled on a good representation. New update rat market update gave a (WQ dependent) London-deck accessible method though.

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Sep 28 2021 at 9:50 am

Maybe you can have the final box one colour if it is in London and another if it is elsewhere. I'm not sure I know what is the WQ dependent deck, but I will investigate! :)

Horsea X|Posted on Sep 28 2021 at 12:41 pm

Oh, the deck isn't World Quality (WQ) dependent, but the methods is (the rats might not want to buy ballads that week.)

Updated chart - for the record, the rare success on Nature in the Neath is a 10% one, and I calced the number of actions to to be 456 actions for the 48000 wax + 58 actions for double upvert so around 514 actions? The Lead and The High Path shorten the PL grind by _ages_, hence the choice of method in chart.

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Oct 1 2021 at 9:05 pm

I believe both The Lead and The High Path are not for a poem. And - if my research in the wiki was correct - you can only get the wax from a specific poem. There are other moves that could have a more probably rare (although giving less CP), but with Nature in the Neath with 10% rare, my calculations show 440 moves, plus the conversions, 498.

Horsea X|Posted on Oct 2 2021 at 1:43 am

Could you run me through your calculations? Thanks in advance.

Horsea X|Posted on Oct 2 2021 at 8:12 am

Are you missing two actions on each work for accepting the commission and turning it in? (55 VS 57 actions per work?)

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Oct 2 2021 at 9:47 am

Yes! I miss those two.

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Oct 2 2021 at 9:51 am

I didn’t take these two moves into account. (I didn’t anyway know the rare chance so everything was quite approximate). if you have any clue on the rare chance of the other available moves that increase the working on…, then maybe these calculations can change and save a few moves here and there.

Horsea X|Posted on Oct 2 2021 at 5:59 pm

"A quiet day at your lodgings" and "Business at the Court" are also just 10% rare success, unfortunately.

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Oct 9 2021 at 12:27 pm

Indeed you can do the song instead, which also allows the lead. I didn’t like the scandal generation so I kind of omitted it. But maybe it’s not that bad considering it needs half the cp to complete.

I thought it was better in the case you could deal with said scandal with a friend or alt - hence deciding to add it to the chart over the poem - also smaller (24 Inspired) works give a better Fine Piece per action rate if PL is still relevant to you/the grinder.

FallenCopenhagen|Posted on Oct 9 2021 at 6:36 pm

Yes, exactly. Indeed, they give better Fine Piece and more wax, considering the 34 inspired works actually require double actions. Kind of weird though that short grinds give better yield. I guess it should be the other way around.
