Levels[edit]

1: You have a success to your name, but nothing worth publishing
2: You have performed a few simple experiments for the Dean, in preparation to do something more notable
3 - 4: Your laboratory is beginning to do real work
5 - 6: Your laboratory has produced a few results that might be worthy of publication
7 - 9: Your laboratory is publishing regularly now
10 - 19: The Dean has started to mention your lab to potential donors, as evidence of the University's forward-thinking efforts
20 - 49: Your laboratory is beginning to attract students from across the University
50 - 76: Your laboratory is one of the most prestigious in London
77 - 99: Your laboratory routinely receives messages and even visitors from the Surface
100 - 199: A four-volume encyclopedia devoted only to the work of your laboratory has been published in honour of your anniversary
200 - 776: The encyclopedic records of your lab now extend to an eight-volume set
777+: Your laboratory's reputation is known even in the High Wilderness

Level Change Descriptions[edit]

1: You have a success to your name, but nothing worth publishing.
2: You have performed a few simple experiments for the Dean, in preparation to do something more notable.
3: Your laboratory is beginning to do real work.
4: Your laboratory has produced a few results that might be worthy of publication.
5 - 9: Your laboratory has completed another publication-worthy piece of research.
10: You overhear the Dean talking about your lab's accomplishments.
11 - 19: Your latest success will doubtless be the Dean's new topic of conversation tomorrow.
20 - 49: More and more students are dropping by in the hope of finding a place in your lab.
50 - 76: A colleague sends you a clipping from a Surface newspaper that mentions you.
77 - 99: A Surface visitor drops by to compliment you on your work.
100: A four-volume encyclopedia devoted only to the work of your laboratory has been published in honour of your anniversary.
101+: It is becoming difficult to remember every monograph to which you have contributed.
