| 80 – 99 | Salt crystalises in the depths, an inevitable reversion. |

| 280 – 299 | On a distant ship, a merchant eyes the island warily. She doesn't stop here anymore. |
| 300 – 319 | A stale smell. Old fish and too much salt. |
| 320 – 339 | Somewhere above, the Abbot-Commander cracks his many knuckles. |
| 340 – 359 | The monks decorate their buildings with twisted figures. They don't call them 'grotesques' anymore. They're 'divinities' now. |
| 360 – 379 | A bloody-fisted monk takes his brother by the hand and hauls him up from the dirt. |
| 380 – 400 | A great pair of lungs, suspended in a chamber, pull water into the island from the zee. |
| 500 | The air clears. The island is quiet. |
