| Airs of the Confounded Traveler |
---|
1 – 9 | 'We left London, the lights of Wolfstack behind us and the dark of the zee ahead. I was frightened, but I was not alone.' |
10 – 19 | 'We sailed past Hunter's Keep. The lights were out. We did not linger. We did not take tea. |
20 – 29 | 'The Tomb-Colonies! Ah, let this not be my fate. Not the bandages and dust, the Grand Sanatorium and silence. Let me not go gentle. |
30 – 39 | 'Northward. There is an old fear in the water. She deserted in the dead of night. I will remember her. |
40 – 49 | 'The air by Mt Palmerston was choked with brimstone. Did we disembark? I do not remember. I do not want to remember. |
50 – 59 | 'South. The light drives us. Our new captain has little experience but an ambition burns her from within. We must reach Adam's Way, before her heart smoulders to ash. |
60 – 69 | 'The Captain is dead. She did not return from the garden. The cats keep her now. I could take on her burden. I will not. |
70 – 79 | 'Adam's Way. Some of the crew left. They want to go upriver. I saw them in the light of my lantern, their bodies red in the river. |
80 – 89 | 'We stopped at Varchas. We met a traveller, returning. She showed us the glass. We journeyed otherwise for a time. |
90 – 99 | 'East. East. East. All shall be green and gold. |
100 | 'Traveller returning. |
