| Airs of the Evenlode |
---|
1 – 9 | The water is dark and cold. |
10 – 19 | The smell of mildew. Papers shuffling. Boots scuffle on stone floors. |
20 – 29 | A canal barge glides past the Magistracy; the Gondolier shivers and leans on his pole. |
30 – 39 | Arguments in a courtroom echo through the Magistracy. Voice become a distant, distorted rumble. |
40 – 49 | Something furry and glowing scuttles in a rocky corridor. |
50 – 59 | Eery silence; papers quietly rotting in archive rooms. Why are there no rats here? |
60 – 69 | Light from beneath the water. Faint, but unmistakeable. |
70 – 79 | A distant splash in one of the Magistracy basements; a clatter of applause. |
80 – 89 | The False-stars are bright here, far from London's lights. |
90 – 100 | Soupy fog turns to miserable drizzle. |
