It's good to know that the editor will refuse to save if there's a syntax error. And don't worry too much about the Stat-reducing list. If this is really the only list that doesn't work with this, it's debatable if it's worth to add functionality to the script. It's only a handful of items and we can easily maintain this one page seperately.
Concerning display modes: Personally, I prefer the "fancy" mode. I rather dislike overlong lines of text and this display mode deals with it nicely.
