Also, I think, the "Cons" part is pretty easy to workaround. You just have to add a little feature to the Item template. Let it check, if there is an entry in DB. And if there isn't, let it include some kind of "Missing entry in Items DB" category to the article (like "Missing CP"), so that the other (more advanced) contributors can track it down and fill the gap in the corresponding table.

Yeah. And it would be great, if there was a quick reference of available qualifiers with which the "source" property is supposed to be set.
