Maybe, the fate option adds another card to your deck that requires Uncovering Secrets Framed in Gold' Quality 2 and Acquaintance: the Repentant Forger. I will try souring my relationship with him, hopefully, that will remove the card.

Edit: It seems to have worked. As long as you do not gain an Acquaintance: the Repentant Forger, there should be no card!
