Back in ye olden days, whirring contraptions where very hard to obtain. Wilmot's End gave a lot less than it does now, and there weren't as many ways of grinding phosphorescent scarabs or memories of light which you need to manufacture them in the bazaar sidestreets. Phosphorescent scarabs upconvert into memories of light, so by giving a decent source of them it relieves the burden that used to be sourcing 2 of them lol.
