The August roadmap mentioned a "Firmament small update" currently slated for November, affecting multiple existing areas. The Kinetoculus is a leading possibility for what that might entail. Others possibilities include smuggling, or being able to change airships.

Whether it's the November update or not, I do hope something happens sooner than the end of Firmament. Even if it's just a resource sink of building a cinema.
