Kavka's Toxin Puzzle (<a rel="nofollow" class="external free" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kavka%27s_toxin_puzzle">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kavka%27s_toxin_puzzle</a>) asks whether it's possible to intend a thing while knowing you will go back on your intent later.
This, I suppose, is at once the same and the opposite. You will know nothing later, your intent and your sacrifice will be entirely obscured, and yet... don't you want to be the sort of person who pays the price? Therefore, shouldn't you pay the price, even when you'll never know that you did so?
