Grinding for Whirring contraptions[edit]
Hi Alextfish,
sorry I just added the resets seeking out a missing woman etc as I'm grinding for whirring contraptions (23 times at least - 20 for a zubmarine, and then 1 newspaper, and also 2 for lightfingers 54) and one forum suggested that the carpet bag didn't reset everything - so I had only had to grind my dramatic tension using war of assassins and I would get my whiring contraptions without needing to rebbuild my seeking out the missing woman and looking in high and low places - but that is not true (unlike the situation with She is wearing pearls today where you can just grind the dramatic tension and not start from scratch every time - sigh, and buying them is also slow slow so trying to accurately work out the action cost is really quite significant that you do have to rebuild those qualities. 86.10.14.238 17:13, January 4, 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, I suppose it's relevant that it resets SoaMW. But that's the kind of detail that makes sense to include on the individual page The carpet bag (which does indeed already include that detail). It's not the kind of thing people need to repeatedly reference, which is what I think Category:Searching out a Missing Woman should be; it's just a kind of "housekeeping" detail to ensure you play things in the order Failbetter want.
In other words, I'd say the individual page The carpet bag should include this kind of specific reference detail, but not the main Category:Searching out a Missing Woman page.
Eh, I don't much mind. It's all spelled out in detail in other places like PoSI Item Crafting. If you want to add it on Category:Searching out a Missing Woman, then sure, go ahead, but at least be consistent - add it to the table rows for Down to business and A friendly gesture too!
