The curator is unwilling to let you study the manuscript for long enough to make detailed notes. Hmm. What you need here is a silver tongue, a jar of honey and a monkey.

Unlocked with 500 x Drop of Prisoner's Honey

Success

"Come down at once, you sticky simian menace! No! Not the psaltery!"

[…] your monkey has the lid of the honey jar […] then leaps […] leaving sticky paw-prints […] The curator rushes off in pursuit […] You repair to a quiet alcove with 'The Bell and The Candle' and scribble frantic notes […]

[…] Now, you'll need musicians and instruments. […]

Description summary:
You instruct you monkey to create a mess, and use the distraction to take notes of 'The Bell and The Candle'. You believe there's enough there for you to be able to stage it and hope it will be enough to bring the Topsy King back to the game. The next stop is in Veilgarden, to get musicians and instruments.

Success Instructions: Head to the Singing Mandrake to gather musicians, unless you're otherwise occupied with opera. In that case, you may already have preparations in place.

Failure

"Away! Out! These pipes are delicate! No honey! No monkeys! Shoo!"

Your monkey has a taste for honey. You just happen to leave a loose-lidded jar on the desk while you discuss bassoons with the curator. He's quick, though. He shoos the pair of you out with a broom before your monkey can get its paws sticky.
