Active Access Codes

From Fallen London Wiki
This guide is incomplete. You can help by expanding it.
What needs work: Perpetually needs to be updated with new codes, and old ones removed.

Periodically, Failbetter Games offers access codes that can be used to gain items or qualities within the game. These happen most notably with the advent calendar, but also often happen around important dates like anniversaries or as promotions for new games within the universe.

This page serves as a repository for active access codes outside of those provided for advent, as those ones last only a couple of days. New codes should be added to the end of the document.

What are Access Codes?[edit]

An Access Code is a special link published by Failbetter Games which grants some benefits, such as items or qualities. The most prominent example is the yearly Advent Calendar, containing 25 of such links. However, links can also be given out for special promotions or events.

Access Code links generally have the form https://fallenlondon.com/a/something. They can only be used once per character and tend to stop working at some point.

See Category:Pages containing Access Codes.

Sunless Skies[edit]

Judgemental Hat[edit]

Judgementalhat.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/judgementalhat

This hat claims - at length - to have adorned a traveller of the High Wilderness. It is not impressed with its present resting-place; neither with the Neath in general, nor with your head specifically.

Result:

Securely positioned sur ta tête, its scorn is directed outwards. Occasionally, it tuts.

[The Judgemental Hat was created in response to community actions during the Sunless Skies Kickstarter. Enjoy it with our thanks, delicious friends!]

Aunt at your Door[edit]

Aunt.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/YourAuntIsHere____191823

The familiar scent of scones and strong gin wafts into your lodgings. Your Aunt is at your door. Wasn't she supposed to be somewhere else?

Result:

Her entrance is inevitable. There she is, in your front parlour, with a platter of pastries.

She has something she needs to tell you: a tale of secret meetings and skulduggery. The Traitor Empress, she says, is enacting her most ambitious scheme. Your aunt has to dash; but she leaves her comestible creations.

Temple Club Access Code[edit]

Templeclub.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/toc8478427505558293e81290

In an unprecedented move, the clandestine and obscure Temple Club has opened its doors to the public. It is a place for free thinkers, radical antiquarians and luminaries of the modern age to gather amidst the ruins of the Fourth City.

Result:

The Temple Club is open to you, for a time. They congregate in a burnt temple deep within the Forgotten Quarter. Amongst the cinders they discuss ways that the world may be other than it is now.

[This code will permit you entry to the Temple Club three times. Find it on your Map, near the Forgotten Quarter.]

Sudden Insight[edit]

Door.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/xyzzy

This access code will take you to a colossal cave.

Result:

You are in a colossal cave. There are seven labyrinths. None are alike. It is dark. There is no grue. Descend a well, and you will find secrets. They sell brass lanterns with the blood-apples.

Mysterious Photograph[edit]

Followphoto.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/mystery

Welcome back to Fallen London! Your surprise is waiting.

Result:

What’s this, tucked between the yellowing leaves of a forgotten calendar? A mysterious photograph! A clue, perhaps? To examine the photograph, simply go to your inventory and click it...

Mask of the Rose[edit]

Sheaf of Poetic First Drafts[edit]

Promissorynote.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/StartingNotesMotR496584

A yellowing bundle of papers, found trapped between piles of ancient census folders. Lost since shortly after the Fall, only now finding their way into your hands.

Result:

A quick scan reveals work demonstrating wit, deft rhyming, and even the inoffensive use of puns. Sentences, whole stanzas are scratched out, rewritten, tweaked. The poems are unfinished, perhaps even abandoned. But even now, decades after these pages were lost, the words brim with passion.

[The Sheaf of Poetic First Drafts was created in response to community actions during the Mask of the Rose Kickstarter. Enjoy it with our thanks, delicious friends!]

Rusty Census-Taker's Badge[edit]

Censusbadge.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/TheCensusTaker287366

A small metal badge: the sign of one employed by the Masters to perform a census, immediately after the Fall.

Result:

It is impressive that the badge is merely rust stained. The folds of metal, like the delicate petals of a stylised rose, can be bent with only finger pressure and would crack if flexed. Most such badges will have been discarded in 1862, when the worker's job was complete. How did this one survive the decades?

[The Rusty Census-Taker's Badge was created in response to community actions during the Mask of the Rose Kickstarter. Enjoy it with our thanks, delicious friends!]

A gift from Horatia! It comes from her personal collection: a memento of the time when she was new to the Neath. Enjoy it in good health, delicious friend.

Result:

You are now the possessor of an Exemplary Work of Lapsarian Theological Art, a home comfort with some additional uses.

Fallen London 10th Anniversary[edit]

January 6th[edit]

Explosion.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/225588HappyBirthdays

The Revolutionary approaches you in the street, all smiles and innocence. "Come this way! I've just the thing for your... celebrations." Your birthday? Hallowmas? The Feast of the Rose? The election? "Yes," he says, winking furiously.

Result:

You are led to a large crate at the end of an alley, roughly covered with a tarpaulin. "You know what to do. Good luck, comrade." And with that, he's off. Well, these are yours, now.

January 7th[edit]

Papers2.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/496581allthingsshallbewell

The Ministry official stands by the Bazaar, smiling with ominous serenity. He hands out documents to any passer by who comes near. Most are keeping a wary distance.

Result:

"Here. Please. Take it. I left my job, and someone needs to look after my paperwork." He laughs – it is high and desperate, like a carthorse startled by a tiger. "Ten years, and you know what did it? Not the rats, the bats – or even those blasted cats. Someone gave me an exceptional hat and expected me to wear it. One has to draw a line."

January 8th[edit]

StationIII port.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/193843ahomelyglow

"Get your newly patented, Farthing & Sons' lamp-post here! Impress your wives, your husbands, your servants and pets. Be the first on your street with one of our newest and greatest inventions yet." The seller has even erected a little platform from which to shout.

Result:

"You! You look like a truly discerning individual! Have you even been in undesired dark? No more!" The woman passes you a perfectly ordinary lamp attached to a heavy metal tube. With a great squealing, the tube telescopes open, raising the lamp to over twice your height. How handy! Pity about the noise.

January 9th[edit]

Candlemilkyblue.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/564848royalrepast

What is that wretched noise? Who sits on your doorstep, weeping and wailing?

Result:

The dejected pastry chef can barely see you through the tears. His sumptuous moustache is entirely sodden. "Here," he says. "Take it. What use can it have? Her Majesty— She—" He mops his face with his toque. "I designed it just for her. She didn't spare it a glance."

January 10th[edit]

Mirror1.png

Access Code: https://www.fallenlondon.com/a/228239mirrormirror

There is a small, silk-wrapped bundle on your dressing table. It wasn't there last night. Who could have brought it? Rats? Not bats – the window is closed. Still, it's certainly for you.

Result:

The silk slides free to reveal a mirror the size of your palm. The frame is fine, and engraved with intricate handwriting. The glass is pristine, so perfect that it deserves that you use it, to consider your reflection. And, oh, isn't this half-light flattering?
