Deviltry

[…]two leaders to the Union[…]Furnace[…]Cornelius[…] a bunch of standing stones […]Deviless in charge wanted all the stones […] Furnace said no[…] But Cornelius […] bad case of frostbite that it kills him[…]Furnace comes back with that helmet on."[…]

Description summary:
There were two leaders of the Unions: Ancona, before she had the helmet, and Cornelius, who did most of the negotiations. That was when their employers were the Devils and Devilesses from Hell. There was a job in which they came across standing stones that were similar to the one that your character found. Their employer wanted them; Furnace does not want them to do the side-job, but Cornelius persuaded her to keep their employer satisfied. The side job cost Cornelius his life, and Furnace had some event that gave her the helmet. (There is no further mention of what happened to Cornelius, considering that death is not permanent in the Neath.)

Failure

That's the Union's own business

What happened out at the Hurlers was a tragedy, and none of your affair, and if you like your face arranged as it is, you'll stay out of it.
