Note that the EpA calculation look a lot better if you A) get the Whirring Contraptions elsewhere and B) have an alt or an acquaintance to slight. The latter is simple enough: The cards from assassins your friend send at you are worth 12.5 Echoes for one action. The former is hard to achieve with so few sources, but if you get the Contraptions somewhere, this is the place to spend them.
In theory, valuing Contraption at just 6 Echoes gives Newspaper ~5.6 EpA.
