@TheDragonRider: I see where you're coming from with your interpretation. However, I'd like to offer two counterpoints, both of which, if you'll forgive me, are fairly obvious:

1. The other Discordant Laws act on reality, and do exactly what they say. "No bodies in disagreement shall be in disagreement" compels agreeability, for example. And it does so in London, not Parabola.

2. If it's "not as bad as it seems", then what is the POINT of that ending? I don't mean in the sense of the mechanics of the setting - I mean the thematic point, the emotional impact. Because read in a more straightforward way (which is still, let's be honest, not that straightforward), it's an economically written dark story with a devastating final sentence. Read under the interpretation you offer here...I really think you just end up missing out on a very powerful moment that this game has to offer, and honestly, that's a shame.
