Forum:Storylet results

When I come here, I come to see what results I can expect from the different choices in a storylet. Right now, to do this, you need to open a new tab for each result and scroll down to the actual figures. Is that an agreed-upon policy or just because that's how it's always been done so far? 'cause it would be waaaayy more convenient to have a choice table with the essential information (requirements and results, mostly) right on the storylet page. --Groli (talk) 16:10, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Some storylets have this, like An implausible penance, for example. Is that what you mean? For "profit" storylets with lots of choices this works, but most storylets have only a few options and the main reward is the story, not the items. Also, generally it's best to keep the wiki accessible to new users and the result-tables, at least as we have them right now, are fairly complicated when compared to using one template on a new page. --Vae Victis (talk) 17:03, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
We're probably going to make more of those like the afore-mentioned card, so that's in the plans. (See Unfinished Business in Watchmaker's Hill for a different, much more simple, example).
Or do you mean like the other wiki, such as Track down a Spirifer (wikia test)? The reason I don't like all aspects of that is because it makes it harder to link to individual actions, and I think especially redirects are horrible that way. If that's what you meant, it has been debated. — Aximillio (Message Wall) 20:37, July 31, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, kinda like those. Although I prefer tables like in Time in bed, so you know at a glance what you want to go for as far as concrete results go. I find the "Unfinished Business" one not detailed enough for that purpose, and I don't see the need for spoilering the material results like in "Track down a Spirifer", only the story.
At least now I know that it's not a policy. I used to spend a great deal of time on the Kingdom of Loathing wiki, and that's clearly the way I think you should be looking to go. --Groli (talk) 09:00, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
Muahahaha I'm glad someone likes the Time in bed table. I also added a short story publication result table for Category:The Writer's Desk so people can more easily figure out how much Potential they want to build.  Can you tell I'm a scientist in real life?
A friend whom I invited to FL suggested I try KoL. Haven't tried yet but it looks fun in a off-the-wall sort of way. Wriothesley (talk) 15:32, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Then we're working on it =) — Aximillio (Message Wall) 14:10, August 1, 2014 (UTC)
