Talk:Seeking Mr Eaten's Name (Guide)

Beginning the Search

Hmm, dunno if talk pages are a thing here or not. Anyway, I wanted to explain why I think being betrayed is the most "accessible" way to start SMEN: I was defining "accessible" as "the fastest way to get into the questline as a new player." Admittedly, that's not the only reasonable definition - another one would be "most doable without relying on luck or other people," in which case it's one of the least accessible.

But I think we can agree that it's the fastest way to start? You're hard-pressed to start seeking on your first day in London any other way, unless you get (un)lucky and get UP from something random - and going that way is not recommended, because it wastes a week of Marsh-Mired.

We usually use the article comments - you can find them at the bottom of the page. ViKomprenas (talk) 17:00, March 3, 2020 (UTC)
Indeed, comments are much more in use here. Talk pages hardly ever.
Regarding your comment: "accessible" is indeed subjective. At most, you can say that being betrayed might be the "most accessible" when talking about: (a) a brand new character, and (b) with access to already seeking other players (e.g. via the forums, reddit, etc.). Seeking is already a very niche part of the game. I believe that out of that small number of players, only a vert tiny fraction meets those two requirements (most won't start Seeking on a new character, and most players have no exposure to the forums and other players).
