|Success Instructions = You will receive a terrifying variety of items as you play Fallen London. Many of these will be useful for unlocking particular actions or pieces of content.

A lot of the items that you need early on, you will find through play. Sometimes, you'll need more of something than you currently have. Unless you know where you can find more, you can often turn to the Bazaar - Marrigan's Exchange in particular carries a whole host of useful oddities. You can usually sell some of what you have to buy what you need.

Some things can't be bought - but many of them can be obtained by using less valuable items from your inventory. Trade jade for relics. Stay up all night talking with a respected scientist. Barter valuable souls. This is an important way to get your hands on more particular items.
