Return of the forum[edit]

We have a forum (again)!

The main page is found at Forum:Fallen London Wiki and contains 4+1 different boards (at the moment). The link is present on the left sidebar under Navigation. The main page of the wiki features a Forum section at the bottom which show the recent activity.

It is built from the combination of the DPLforum extension and Convenient Discussions (and a bit of InputBox), so there's no need to edit the entire page to write replies. A forum thread is similar to a talk page, except that new topics cannot be added (unless enabled, see header) on the same page. It also has all the other handy functions of CD, like mentioning other users with '@'.

New threads are created from the boards, using an input box to create the page with preloaded instructions!

Threads can also be "stickied" (by providing the "sticky=yes" parameter to the header). Stickied threads will appear on the top of their respective boards in a separate section!

Every forum page (even the index and the boards) uses a header template to indicate forum depth (a maximum of 3, as there's no reason for more). Boards use the Forumboard template and the index page uses Forumindex. The "search" and "create page" input boxes also have their separate templates.

Boards are limited to displaying 50 topics per page, after which a "Next page" button will be automatically added at the bottom.

There's a board for Archived topics, which contains recovered posts from the old fandom days, recorded for posterity. Take a trip there if you're feeling nostalgic! The CD functions are disabled for the archives.

I have to say the first page looks really pretty! — Aximillio (Talk) 21:49, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
Thank you! I did have to wrestle with the forum tag a good bit and the reason those pictures display correctly is still half magic, but I feel like it was worth it! CarrONoir (talk) 22:23, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
