This page contains details about Fallen London Actions.
A keen eye, a pocket notebook, plenty of shoe leather, and overwhelming interest in other people's affairs. Hang around the right street corners, badger the right people, take copious notes – and who knows what you might learn?

Description summary:
An extra paragraph is added with Complication: a Surly Goat-Demon.

ComplicationSecond Paragraph
1 - 3You're not alone in this matter, either. Some splinter faction of Hell has taken an interest. Everywhere you go, the Goat-Demon is ahead of you, menacing witnesses, stepping on leads. This might prove inconvenient.

2Raise On the Trail to 4 to close the case.

To pursue the more rewarding branches, gather Whispered Hints in Ladybones Road, and purchase discrete clothing from the Bazaar.

    Ahah!

Success Instructions: Sudden Insights offer you Second Chances on Watchful checks. You can use Second Chances to retry a failed check – but you must choose to spend them before attempting it. If you fail, you get another shot. You lose the Second Chance either way.

Second Chances are particularly useful for branches that you can only attempt once, or where failure would set you back to some degree. Depending on your Watchful level, it may be wise to spend one to close the case of the Tattooed Courier.

You can also spend Second Chances in Your Social Engagements to improve your skills.
