Template:Storylet/doc

From Fallen London Wiki
  • location: Where the storylet appears. The location name is plain-text, it will be converted to image-link by the template. If nothing is written it will be Fallen London = appears everywhere in London.
  • locationX: Optional extra locations in which the storylet also appears
  • Description The description of the storylet, which appears right below the name. Trimming Guidelines apply if this is longer than 250 characters.
  • Description summary if you see it fit to write your own shorter one.
  • Game Instructions can be used for game instructions (bold + italic text). This does not count against the character limit.
  • Unlocked with lists unlocks. Use Template:Unlock here, such as "{{Unlock|Watchful}} 100" or "{{Unlock|Shard of Glim|10 x}}".
  • Locked with lists qualities that lock an action. Instead of "Unlocked with no more than 1x Shard of Glim", use this to write it as "Locked with 2x Shard of Glim". Use Template:Unlock here too. (It sounds weird, but it adds the appropriate category for tracking quality usage.)
  • Colour Allows you to list the colour of the storylet border and automatically add it to the right category. Don't include for normal storylet border. Acceptable parameters: bronze, silver, gold, black, purple, green, greenliving, blackzee, blue, lightblue, snow
  • Fifth City Stories When set to "yes", will add the page to Category:Fifth City Stories.
  • Option1OptionX Allow you to list options in the storylet (article names of the actions, in plain text). Please start with Option1 for the first option and keep them in order.
Use the {{!}} workaround for changing option appearance, e.g. to avoid numbers from disambiguated pages: "|OptionX = Accept 2{{!}}Accept".
(This works because {{!}} is expanded to | by the parser. If you'd just use | right away, the Card template itself would treat this as parameter and end up very confused. {{!}} on the other hand is passed through templates, and only then converted to a pipe character when this particular danger is past.)
  • For more complicated storylets, Template:Options can be used instead of (or in addition to) the OptionX options. See An Implausible Penance for an example. (It's a card, but it works the same.)

Template for the display & categorisation of Storylets, the top-level elements visible in a location.
