Good Times[edit]

I wanted to thank you for your grace and restraint, which made this a very pleasurable editing experience. I hope I avoided stepping on your toes too much. TFF (talk) 15:27, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

It was pleasant for me as well (and I hope the same thing)! It always feels great when people without much previous planning can achieve such coordination! The unspoken etiquette for editing might be logical, but actually seeing it in practice is immensely satisfying. And now new content gets documented even faster! Thank you, too! Auto Guide Links[edit]

Salutations!

It looks like you're implementing the Property:Is guide for suggestion that was made recently on the forums. Fantastic!

A syntax suggestion, although perhaps you've explored it and there's a reason it doesn't work. It looks right now like you're handling potentially multiple guides by using #loop and #explode to parse the results of the #ask query. It might be simpler to use the plainlist format, and pass HasGuide as the template parameter. E.g. something like:

{{#ask:[[Is guide for::{{#var:quality}}|format=plainlist|link=none|template=HasGuide}}

I haven't actually, y'know tested this so it might not work or may need some fiddling. I'm happy to bang on it if you would like.

If that doesn't work, another alternative is that we have both SMW and mw:Extension:Arrays installed, which I think means you can use "array" as a format type.

Hullo!

Well first off you're absolutely right! I admit I'm not terribly used to SMW (just yet) and have the unfortunate habit of implementing the first solution that comes to mind. However, I did expect that should there be a better solution, someone will chime in to share it, which did happen! I do strive to be efficient and would have examined it further if nothing came up, but I know that I'll need a day or two to manually comb through the guides and set the property anyway so I just submitted a janky solution as bait in the meantime, hehe. Sweet XP for me!

Furthermore, I'm aware you're not around on Discord, where this was discussed a bit. I'll try to keep you better informed about projects that might concern you in the future!

Thank you for the advice! CarrONoir (talk) 21:17, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Collapsible GuideNeedsWork[edit]

Thanks for sorting that out; I could not get the MW collapse functionality to behave. Your implementation is very clever and works great. Fynnkaterin (talk) 01:40, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
