Introduction[edit]

It can be hard to figure out what equipment to buy as an early-game or mid-game character. Some equipment has uses beyond the stats given making them particularly attractive, but looking up every single item would be a daunting task. There's also some equipment given by access codes, which isn't advertised in-game, and some equipment is unlocked with stories. This guide seeks to give suggestions for what equipment you could get fairly reasonably within different sections of the game.

There are 16 kinds of equipments: Boon, Hat, Clothing, Gloves, Weapon, Boots, Companion, Treasure, Destiny, Tools of the Trade, Affiliation, Transportation, Home Comfort, Ship, Spouse, Club. The underlined ones can't be unequipped.

Particularly useful seasonal items are mentioned as references. In addition, it's fairly easy to get companions with up to +7 during HALLOWMAS, FEAST OF THE ROSE and WHITSUN. For festivals see the following pages: FRUITS OF THE ZEE (FOTZ), HALLOWMAS, FEAST OF THE ROSE, CHRISTMAS, WHITSUN and SUMMER. Certain Christmas equipment may not be available every year.

It should be noted that this is not a comprehensive list of equipment, and some equipment has been omitted due to requiring more work compared to their value. In this guide, a Cardfan means that the option needs luck of some sort and may take some weeks. A Clock means the option will be available within x weeks, but doesn't require luck.

Early Early-Game[edit]

This section is available more or less from the get-go. All the equipment costs 2 E or less. Items from specific festivals have been omitted to reduce chaos.

This section assumes Making your Name 6. All the equipment costs less than 30 E . Renown 10 items are also included in the list. Easily accessible PosI items are included in the list.

Note that some equipment adds a card to your opportunity deck permanently once possessed, which may be less profitable in late-game, like Gang of Hoodlums, A Day with God's Editors and some faction items.
