There may be a slim chance to keep some (I somehow ended up with a 64% chance of progress), but I think the default is as you say: no loss on the first check, -5 for the rest. The EPA analysis should examined and recalculated.)

I think I even looked at Hugo van der Goes' Wikipedia page when trying to figure this out, but dismissed him because we didn't know about Burgundy yet.)

- 07:20, 23 June 2024 SpaceWizard talk contribs commented on the article The Rat Market (Guide) (Back-of-the-napkin math/corroborating the comment on the calculator page: for full markup, you can sell 52 tier 5s, or 10.4 tier 6s, or 2.08 tier 7s. If you'll take the half markup, you can sell 144 tier 5s, 28.8 tier 6s, or 5.76 tier 7s. So if you're, say, stockpiling Night-Whispers to sell to the Rat Market, you'll only get to sell ~58 of them each time it shows up.)

- 11:58, 25 April 2024 SpaceWizard talk contribs edited a comment on the article Stuiver (If you want to grind these out right now, with just Hallow's Throat released, I think there's 3-ish good options. First is the Bone Market, selling skeletons (value/10) or 49-voiced Warblers (100) to the Zailor for Warm Amber. Convenient if you've already got bones, maybe not if you don't. Second is the Laboratory research "Make a cartographical study of the ceiling", which currently nets EDIT: 690 Stuivers for ~27 actions (25.6 S/a) (originally wrote 340 for some reason). I must've thought you only got 7 Charts instead of 14, minus 10 Stuivers for the Tempestuous Tale you're "researching". 27 actions is a guesstimate based on my experience, getting about 22 research/action, thus 550/22 = 25 actions +2 for intro/outro.)

- 07:10, 7 February 2024 SpaceWizard talk contribs commented on the article Rumour Grinding (Guide) (For the Rumourmonger's Network, my estimated minimum actions for the Cover Identity route is about 373, without any head start on Backstory (and you're a Midnighter, for that sweet sweet 4-action reduction on Decoding). Conversely, the Tracklayer's City route is 283 to 312 actions (+1), provided you're getting 500-550 Prosperity/Action from maximized Efficiency. The Certifiable Scrap route is... bad. Don't.)

I'm lucky I already had a Rumourmonger's Network, but this does look to be at least 50 actions faster than the Cover Identity method, unless you've got backstory items stockpiled.)

- 09:10, 6 August 2023 SpaceWizard talk contribs commented on the article Breeding Monsters (Guide) (If you're considering purchasing the Formula to get the beasts (and not just for the story), here are the highlights: Firstly, none of the 5 beasts are particularly good in main stats. Don’t use the card-based selling options either, just sell them normally. The Ocelot’s card helps immensely when you’re grinding SotC to 10, and saves a typewriter when setting up your newspaper for the first time. After that, the value is minimal. The Dream-Hound’s two cards are amazing (4E of honey and a f...)
