|Value 1 - 9 = The Fore-Rat moves constantly, pacing the factory floor. Her path has her checking in with the work team leaders on a regular basis; she is kept appraised of productivity, hazards, worker fatigue.
|Value 10 - 29 = The Fore-Rat scampers over to a vast, squealing machine, where two large rats squabble. It is only a work of moments for the Fore-Rat to have them soothed. Buttons are pushed, steam released, and the squeal alters to a roar.
|Value 30 - 42 = A cable snaps. It's pulled, lashing and writhing through a machine. Before the work team are even aware of the problem, the Fore-Rat has turned the machine off. A pup is sent – carefully, cautiously – into the machine to rethread the rope.
|Value 47 - 59 = It's time for a break for those rats doing the most arduous work. The Spinners leave their wheels, slowing them down for the next rats to take over. The Fore-Rat marks down the time the first shift spent running before sending them to rest.
|Value 60 - 76 = Steam whistles from a cracked pipe! The Fore-Rat blows a whistle (too high for you to hear). A team of rats leap up from a card game and grab their equipment: a metal patch, thick gloves, and a blowtorch.
|Value 80 - 105 = A pup runs out of the waiting room and squeaks urgently at the Fore-Rat. She signals to a work team leader to take over, before dashing after the pup. Is the Fore-Rat supervisor of both nursery and factory?
|Value 110 - 148 = An elderly rat limps up to the Fore-Rat. She takes one look at his front paw, and sends him out of the factory with a small sack of Incorruptible Biscuits.
|Value 153 - 185 = The Fore-Rat drags a tiny table to the front of the factory. She sits to consume a meal of cheese, mushrooms and biscuits. Even breaking for lunch, she doesn't take an eye off her working rats.
|Value 194 - 232 = The Fore-Rat pulls out a box and draws out a string of flags. She runs these up several pulleys, each attached to the roof of the factory. It must be a signal for rats deep at the back, for shortly after two work teams come running.
|Value 235 - 389 = A work team has been productive – its finished its tasks early. The Fore-Rat checks over their work while they take a break: some getting out cards, others darting into a side room to look in on their young.
|Value 402 - 498 = The Fore-Rat paces anxiously in front of a weaving loom. She's pulled the work team off it, while she climbs up to examine a crumbling part. Eventually, she shakes her head. It's not to be used till it's been fully repaired.
|Value 506 - 609 = Several pups have emerged from a side room to watch you work. They cluster together, staring anxiously. Have they never seen a human before? The Fore-Rat shoos them – ever so gently – away.
|Value 610+ = The factory must be running smoothly – the Fore-Rat has come over to watch you work, and from mere curiosity, not a desire to supervise. She catches your eye and nods. You've done well.
