Late MYN Content and Onwards

This page is a brief catalogue of repeatable, non-card based ways to increase Quirks. Besides roleplay, some notable reasons to want to increase quirk levels are to access "I myself am my only true friend!" with Hedonist 8 (which gives four Second Chances), Quite a moral afternoon with Subtle 4, and Browse the society romances with Steadfast 4 (which gives a Mood).

You may also consume various Renown items to substantially increase specific quirks at the cost of others.

Austere

• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating Parabolan pickles.
• It can be raised up to 15 by Area-Diving: Into the river with it, lowering Hedonist.
• The Iron Republic has an option which can raise it to 15 without lowering other quirks, but visiting the area may have other consequences and alter many other quirks significantly: see the guide.

Daring

• It can be increased up to 10 through The Means to Knowledge storylet, lowering Subtle and requiring Ruthless 4.
• It can be raised to 12 at Station VIII by eating brandied jam.

Forceful

• It can be raised to 5 by hunting dangerous prey, lowering Subtle.
• It can be increased up to 10 at The Singing Mandrake (storylet), lowering Subtle.
• It can be raised to 12 at Station VIII by eating brandied jam.

Heartless

• It can be raised up to 5 at The Shuttered Palace by Double-crossing an unfortunate footman.
• It can be raised up to 10 at the conclusion of the Mutton Island carousel, lowering Magnanimous.
• It can be raised to 12 at Station VIII by eating brandied jam.
• While not infinitely repeatable, it is increased by raising Society Renown past 15.

Hedonist

• It can be raised up to 10 by 3CP/action at the The Empress' Court via The pleasures of the Neath.
• One can Area-Dive and repeatedly choose to keep it to increase Hedonist up to level 10, giving 3CP for every 12 actions and lowering Austere.
• At the university, with Featuring in the Tales of the University exactly 5, one can repeat the Term Passing... carousel and Feast. Fourteen courses of sheer indulgence gives 3CP up to level 10 and can be repeated four times per cycle. The Provost? The Provost... gives 5CP up to level 15 once per cycle. A cycle takes at least 26 actions.
• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating attar marmalade.
• It can be raised to 15 via Romance at Court. This requires at least Hedonist 8 and is a very long grind, requiring 120 actions per cycle and sending you to exile, giving 5CP up to 15, but lowering Austere by 5CP. However, this grind is notable for always being accessible.
• It cannot realistically be raised by becoming Closest To the Bohemians; it rises when you shift to the Bohemians, but is reduced an equal amount when you break away from them (unless you shift to the Rubbery in Helicon House or Sell the location of the Cave of the Nadir, disassociate yourself from that faction, and then return to the Bohemians via opportunity card). Also, it quickly becomes very expensive.

Magnanimous

• If Magnanimous < 4, there's no good repeatable way to increase it. Donate to an orphanage and Donate an Echo to a good cause can increase it at 1 CP per action, but both need card drawing and cost almost 1 favour. Emancipate a Clay Man can increase it at less than 1.5 CP per action if the Clay Quarters are accessible.
• It can be increased up to 10 through The Means to Knowledge storylet, lowering Melancholy and requiring Magnanimous 4.
• It can be raised up to 10 at the conclusion of the Mutton Island carousel, lowering Heartless and Ruthless.
• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating attar marmalade.

Melancholy

• It can be raised up to 5 by picking out a sapphire at Empire Adornments in the Bazaar Sidestreets.
• It can be raised up to 10 at the conclusion of the Hunter's Keep carousel.
• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating Parabolan pickles.
• While not infinitely repeatable, it is increased by raising Great Game Renown past 15.

Ruthless

• It can be raised up to 5 through betraying other players via false offers of Nightmares and Wounds aid requests.
• It can be raised up to 10 at the conclusion of the Mutton Island carousel, lowering Magnanimous.
• It can be raised to 12 at Station VII by eating brandied jam.

Steadfast

• It can be raised up to 5 by displaying admirable sportmanship at the end of the first Term carousel at the University.
• It can be raised up to 5 by sharing a cup of The Achlian Midnight with the expenditure of a Free Evening.
• It can be increased by publishing newspapers, both by remaining Honest, no matter what (which increases up to 10 and does not lower other quirks) and choosing to publish An edition brimming with truth and wisdom (which increases up to 10 and lowers heartless).
• It can be raised up to 10 at the conclusion of the Mutton Island carousel, lowering Heartless and Ruthless.
• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating Parabolan pickles.

Subtle

• It can be increased to 10 by choosing to "Keep it bloodless" during the repeatable Doing Business in Wilmot's End carousel, lowering Forceful.
• It can be increased up to 10 through The Means to Knowledge storylet, lowering Forceful and requiring Subtle 4.
• It can be increased to 10 by becoming Closest To the Great Game, which becomes expensive quickly, requires already having Subtle 4, and decreases Steadfast.
• It can be raised up to 12 at Station VIII by eating attar marmalade.
• While not infinitely repeatable, it is increased by raising Docks Renown past 15 and Constables Renown past 15.
