Chthonosophy | 17 | Woohoo finally
Colonoscopy skill woooo |
Go fishing for a riddle | 14 | What lives in in a castle that doesn't exist? Sponge! Bob! Square! Pants! What did devils leave behind in Irem? Sponge! Bob! Square! Pants! |
The Machinations of the Masters | 11 | in 2034 we will be bemoaning the existence of this card, because Mp Georg's Newest Hotness: The Rise of Bonewalker reaches an amortized 8.162 EPA given perfect deck thinning, and perfect deck thinning now includes "never actually completing your ambition" |
Mr Transport | 11 | “So tell me, Mr Transport, what sort of secrets did you Masters discuss at your last meeting?”
Gnawing noises |
Vial of Masters' Blood | 11 | Do you think that the Masters ever reach for one of their victorian Red Science TV remotes but then because their blood keeps vibrating it pushes the remote just out of reach? it sounds horrible. |
Powder of Renewal | 11 | gender euphoria, extracted and refined. |
Rubbery Plongeur | 10 | scrubbery man |
Neighbourhood Noctivagant | 10 | The last one goes so hard |
A Seat at the Board | 10 | It takes a true dedication to the cause of knowledge to sell a T8 that you only ever get one of. I salute you. |
Preparations for a Vast Revel | 10 | Just how much wine does his amused lordship have??
At this rate the fifth city will be drowned in Greyfields 1879 instead of lacre. |
The Sixth Coil (historical) | 10 | Who wrote this, Irem? |
Ferret | 10 | nonbinary people do be having nouns for names
(but i am one of them) |
Fruits of the Zee Festival (Guide) | 10 | Not with perfect knowledge ; but to ppl wondering what level of devotion to go for etc this is what I would tell them. Many thanks to the delicious ppl doing the google spreadsheet linked below.
THE CHECKLIST -> 1 of each coral (or 3 of each coral if you want cosmetic copies of the same item) -> All the equipment listed in the above Wiki -> Either 1 storylet quality, or 5* the storylet quality if you think you’ll get an extra bonus; or 0 if you think it's a vanity quality and can't be bothered to get it. As of 9 Sept there are people quite confident it's just vanity and others that it's a unique item. -> favours to get a new ship (max needed 2000, the trade-in value of your current vessel is considered, you don't need a ship to buy one but presumably must be POSI, you can only have one ship still) -> favours to buy other old festival items (max 2000 needed, max cost per item is 250 favours)
DIVING FOR EQUIPMENT STRATEGY: It's minutely better to target lower depth items first; because if you are "forced" to dive deeper when you get a poor draw, you might come across a more rare item at the next depth. For that reason I'd start with corals, then Wrecking boots+ Nuncian Watch, then Effluvia + Mary Lloyd, and target the Scrimshander last.
2) 8 devotion depth 2, if not then “reroll” 90% to depth 3 until Wrecking boots + Nuncian watch (or maybe devotion 9 for Nuncian watch if it's really evading you). Pick up max favours if you can’t find them. 3) 10 devotion depth 4 until Mary Lloyd + Effluvia; if at depth 4 you get terrible pickings, go depth 5 and maybe pick up Scrimshander instead; if it’s horrific (<300 favours) you can always get the storylet quality. 4) 11 devotion depth 5 until Scrimshander (worst case do storylet or pick up max favours if you don't see it)
5a) The expected return optimal strategy = Devotion 9 = 15.4 FPA. Target the Effluvia at depth 3, if not target 300 at depth 4, if not go depth 5, you drown 13% of the time. The highest FPA although also the most drowny. 5b) 10 devotion depth 3-5 = 14.6 FPA. Target 300 favours at depth 3 or 4; if not go do depth 5. You drown 8% of the time. Or you can ignore 300 favours and dive always to depth 5 for 14.7 FPA and drowning 10% of the time. 5c) 11 devotion, 14.3 FPA, 0% drowning. Why we "save" the collecting the storylet quality is because during favour grinding we will probably reach depth 5, and at that point you might get a horrific draw. You can avoid this unluckiness by taking the storylet at that point. In a reply below I go into more detail of the math. The boost to FPA is greatest for the 11 devotion grind where you'll be at depth 5 100% of the time (as opposed to the 9 devotion grind where you'll be at depth 5 9% of the time); and the FPA boost to the 11 devotion grind depends on the amount of times you intend to dive/collect stories and will probably be in the range of +0.1 to +0.8 for most ppl.
You could also aim to get 900 tales of terror -> 180 extraordinary implications --> 35 uncanny incunabulum --> 6400 rat shillings --> 6250 amanita sherry --> 1250 brilliant souls --> A guest room at the Brass Embassy. 25 actions upconvert to uncannies, 32 actions to get shillings = 57 actions outside the festival. Due to rounding you need 900 tales; but you'll have 5 implications, 3 uncannies and 150 rat shillings left over.
VS you'd get 5 tales of terror per action; 50 actions to reach 250 tales of terror, 5 actions to upconvert to 50 extraordinary implications (+2 actions of getting back the uni reputation); then 2 actions to upconvert to 10 uncannies (and an action to get uni reputation) then 10 actions to convert to 2000 rat shillings = 2000 partial maps -> 420 Zee-stories in 4 extra upconverting actions; so you get 20 extra Zee-stories plus tales of terror method is 74 actions instead of 80; PLUS you get 5 strangling absinthes, 54-114 making waves and other minor bonuses of nevercold brass, rare successes, and I overbudgeted uni reputation so it's probably an action less. There are Flask of Abominable Salts costs of uni reputation; but I think at least for the stats here, it's not going to change the story. Nb pls note Rat market only accepts Uncanny Incunabulum from 3 November so it is a bit of a wait to cash in / convert...
///// edit: there is a table! showing estimated favour per depth and things of that sort //// https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aNr8KvFoEY_woKy21_ET82KwKIpNfO0mBaTsD7QB9-I/edit?pli=1#gid=2052195837 ///// Nb the Monte Carlo as of writing doesn't take into account the logic of "if I get a bad draw, I'll just reroll" which will hurt the overall expected FPA that the spreadsheet outputs at depths lower than 5; or the logic of "if I get Effluvia at depth 3 I'll not dive deeper" which I think hurts the overall expected FPA of certain higher depth strategies.

The Machinations of the Masters | 9 | I sure love FL cards, it really would be great to actually draw them sometimes. |
Russet Brachiator | 9 | fur anchor |
Lyon Pursuivant of Arms Extraordinary | 9 | parabolan nyanbinyary catgirl moments :3 |
Make (City Name) your home of record | 9 | I'm grinding for this right now, and I ended up accepting a Rumormonger's Network *and then* a Vial of M_____'s B____ just to get her out of my deck.
I'd like you all to imagine this gangly, scruffy Red Scientist, grand devil's crown on his head, wearing a lab coat with more stains than fabric, practically oozing violant light from all the Correspondent's ink he's spilled over the years, turning to look at this established representative of Hell in the middle of a cold Evenlode suburb and shouting: "Virginia! I haven't seen you since the Hurlers! Lovely spa you've built down there, though I'll admit I prefer the lead bathtub I had installed in the Royal Beth. What? Oh yes, thank you for the network of spies from the Khanate to the Surface...and the most illegal substance in the Neath, I've always wanted one, but...could you please step out of my way? The lads and I are trying to build a grain silo." |
Judgements' Egg | 8 | not to be confused with a star that's convinced that an eternal yearning to be of a different gender is a natural part of the stellar experience. that's a judgement who is an egg; this is a the egg of a judgement |
The Seven-Fold Knock | 8 | 1. Shave
2. and 3. a 4. hair- 5. cut, 6. two 7. bits (Was previously a comment here before the wiki exploded; I thought it should be reinstated) |
Nyx-class Zubmersible | 8 | We finally get that bdr the yacht people had over us.
Zub club wins |
Anticandle | 8 | Ronnie Corbett: "There you are, anticandles."
Ronnie Barker: "No, antique 'andles! 'Andles what's antique!" |
A Shaper of Starved Culture | 8 | Only 4 and a half more years until we see what 777 influence is like :O |
The Bounties of the Coil | 8 | there's so much focus on the sixth coil finally opening, the splendour, the riches, the return of Nicator to take his rightful throne, etcetera.
so let me put my prediction on the table. either the coil opens and, in a massive anticlimax, it turns out there's absolutely nothing there... or something goes wrong, as is Estival tradition, and despite everything the coil remains firmly sealed. the narrative is laying it on too thick for any of this to be played straight. |
Chthonosophy | 7 | oh now what in all fresh hell is this. i thought seven was the number of esoteric arts. where are we going to stick another c into magcats |
The Sixth Coil (historical) | 7 | She went into the Black Castle, with all the sacrifices required, to check if a clue was hidden there during the Body Tournament. May you always be remembered. |
Hearts' Game (Guide)/Distinctions | 7 | For those who, like me, sometimes get frustrated with the RNG-heavy nature of Hearts' Game (most recently, while trying to draft a team for the Distinction of Pages, I kept getting a hand with only Knights/Kings to choose from):
If you're chasing Distinctions, it's probably because you want the three capstone rewards – which also require a total of 1500 Exploits. So even if a streak of bad luck means you fail to get a Distinction during a particular run, you're still making progress on Exploits, and it'll be a long time before any of those actions is truly "wasted". :-) |
Chthonosophy | 7 | Really intrigued by this one. Cthonos means the underworld or depths of the earth, while soph means wisdom or insight. So this skill(?) likely involves divining the terrain of the Neath, or interpreting the will of cthonic beings like the Creditor. |
"For the memory of London." | 7 | At least something was saved in the end. |
Nyx-class Zubmersible | 7 | Some people think they can out BDR-me.
Maybe. *sniff* Maybe. I've yet to meet one who can out-BDR zub. |
Lyon Pursuivant of Arms Extraordinary | 7 | Sometimes I remember that I'm legally a cat and can do the :3 face in any story and it makes everything a million times better.
Imagine one of the most Paramount figures in London: a renowned inventor and scientist, a philosopher with their own schools of thought, an artist of various mediums, a master thief, a highly-successful businessperson and railroad director, and a paragon of countless skills. Imagine that person doing :3 and meowing. I'm pretty sure even the Masters would be shocked and confused at the sight. TL;DR: nya~ |
Shop at F.C. Hollow & Daughters | 7 | EIGHTEEN FORTY-THREE? No. I will not accept these lies. This store opened on April 16, 1899, and I will not accept any such fabrications on the part of F. C. Hollow and/or daughters. I have half a mind to tell Her Enduring Majesty what these holders of Her Royal Warrent are doing with it! |
A Shaper of Starved Culture | 7 | That 77 text is certainly... interesting. "within London's tastes" just rubs me wrong. |
Obstinate-class Cruiser | 7 | The artwork looks like the ship is equipped with Dazzle camouflage, meaning the Royal Navy in the Neath is a good decade ahead of its Surface counterpart technologically. |
Request a trophy from a shared enemy | 7 | wait, wait. is this the optimal Touching Love Story grind? you grind prosperity at 5+ EPA. you trade it for master's blood. you trade blood for a crimson book. you crack open the crimson book. 2+ TLS/A, which looks better than the alternatives. surely i'm wrong somehow |
Memory of a Much Lesser Self | 7 | this item is kinda trans, ngl. the person i once was *was* weaker and more fragile. |
Verse of Counter-Creed | 7 | When the Synod is sus |
Just awkwardly gesture between them | 7 | You can write a letter to an acquaintance urging them to become more Dangerous with a story of how you forgot a fellow's honorifics at a party.
You can accelerate your divorce by blaming your spouse for the time you were paralyzed by indecision over a man's honorifics at a party. You can inspire God's Editors with a tale of how their work is all that prevents the good people of London from sins like forgetting a man's honorifics at a party. You can impress monster-hunting recluses from the opposite corner of the Neath with memories of your most fearsome foe: a man whose honorifics you cocked up at a party. |
Full Fathom Five | 7 | Full fathom five thy father lies.
Of his bones are coral made. Those are pearls that were his eyes. Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea change Into something rich and strange. Sea nymphs hourly ring his knell. [Burden, Ding dong.] Hark, now I hear them: ding dong bell. |
A Severed Thread | 7 | okay, so. metanarrative analysis time. for this quality to actually land as it should, even for non-vanguard players, the story whose ending gets ruined needs to be very firmly post-Irem. otherwise, you could take this deal with no consequences by just doing the other story first. (i mean, you probably could anyway, unless said story is also a repeatable carousel. but it's not ideal if someone can do that accidentally)
irem isn't *that* late in the gameplay progression, ever since evolution was downtuned a bit, but it's still not particularly early. either the content boundary would need to be pushed a good ways ahead, in order to statistically guarantee it, or it would need to directly depend on having completed Evolution. both seem rather far in the future |
WE WILL HAVE SILENCE | 7 | Everyone knows you have to be quiet in libraries, and you just HAD to go and make a ruckus and disturb everyone else! Try being polite next time. |
The Black Book of Hearts | 7 | For what you have to go through (and spend!) to get this, it should really be a little better. +2 Kaleptic toxicology would be nice. |
A Bottle of Angry Bees | 6 | "Welcome to Appleby's. Would you like apples or bees?"
Bees? "Bees it is!" You protest ardently! But it is too late. The Amber-Eyed Hostess has already begun pouring you a cup of bees. Wounds is increasing... |
Stuiver | 6 | Before the introduction of the Euro, the Netherlands used the Guilder as currency and a Stuiver is one-twentieth of a Guilder, or 5 Guilder cents.
I'm guessing the Starved Men are Dutch. For a change, they're not the ones at risk of flooding. :) |
Russet Brachiator | 6 | wait, holy shit. this is a grappling hook which firmly catches on air. it allows you to do grapple swinging shenanigans off of ad-hoc invisible walls. i'm pretty sure that, with two of these and enough determination, you could basically just *fly* |
The Sixth Coil (Guide) | 6 | A summary of Sixth Coil exploration from Oldest Man on the FBG Discord, copying over to hopefully be written into the guide properly at some point:
Rough Outline of how the sixth coil works ESTIVAL GUIDE / SIXTH COIL GUIDE
Each floor is associated with a main stat Each floor has a burden that you can pick up, they appear to show up almost instantly, but maybe some sorta rng involved? unknown for now Picking up a burden makes all checks harder; with endgame stats, 3 burdens is still 100%able or close to, 4 burdens is around 70-80% Each "movement" action you take will increase "coiling ever deeper" Each action you take will progress "mapping the labyrinth", THIS CAPS AT 40 AND IS THE "REWARD" QUALITY (along with burdens) You will randomly have a chance to get an option to go "up" or "down" floors, we're pretty sure that the floors loop, so going down floor 4 should lead to floor 1
Rewards Mapping x 2 MoL For each Burden 2 x Mapping 50p item 10 x Mapping x 2p item 40 x Mapping renown This gives each mapping a max value of 7.4 echos if you pick up all 4 burdens This gives a maximum value of 296 echos over 45 actions (40 exploring, 1 enter, 4 cashout) of 6.57 epa, good luck actually achieving this though, due to rng, and the fact that burden 4 checks can't be 100%ed
if your first up/down action was an "up" action, don't take any "down" actions for the rest of the run You want to dip when coiling+mapping = 40 |
At the Shore of Midnight, 5th Edition | 6 | The Creditor and the Moon, most likely. |
Nowhere to go but up | 6 | in a sense, this is an indictment of the quality of service offered by the masters. you can play the marvellous, win, and not *actually* get yourself your heart's desire. and then you can take the matter into your own hands and do what a lovely pile of spacebats never could. |
The Machine's Fulcrum | 6 | honestly i cant remember last time it took so long to find all the branches. like i dont think the wikiheads are slacking, it seems that the devs have finally put in requirements insane enough that a lot of editors dont meet them. |
Mr Transport | 6 | January i assure you, feeding him little slices of banana during the meetings is CRITICAL for the liberation of night |
Salt Weasel | 6 |
I have a pet salt weasel. His name is Felix. Felix is an utter darling, he positively adores chin scritches and head scratchies by the fire. Felix also enjoys eating Ratus Fabber Bandit Chiefs and Rubbery Lumps... Don't ask how I learned that, suffice to say, long-tailed weasels hunt rats and Felix is a proud bearer of his ancestral instincts...
What do you mean dangerous?! Felix wouldn't hurt a fly! unless it had a rat tail! But flies only have tails in the Starved-Men’s stalactite fortresses. Just because Felix has consistently spat up rat pups after he found the local LB-Warrens doesn't make him a menace! It simply puts his honorable yet playful nature on full display. Why, ever since my Emerine Assassin, Fritz met him, Felix has learned how to safely play with his food. I remember one time when Felix was tarred and feathered by the time I got him out. My urchin had to spend 12 Echos buying Jones’ Salt Weasel Shampoo and another two on some gloves for bathing Felix. Nowadays, however, he and Fritz can clear a warren in just two minutes and 14 seconds. Felix doesn't even get hit by LB muskets. Truly a talented weasel.
No! No! Fritz! Not the cupboard! What
My dearest apologies good sir, where was I? Ah yes, salt weasels. I would fervently recommend acquiring one. They are delightful creatures, especially when sitting on your lap by the fire, or resting by your head at night. Now if you’ll excuse me, I must deal with whatever Fritz just found. TALLY HO!
A repeating, repetitive mechanical motion. Knowledge unable to be un-knownt. Preparations for a murder. Turning away from the victim’s corpse. The last breath of a dying friend. Merciless, unceasing advancement of entropy. Dea– The blade is out of sight. Your mind still burns but you are no longer wholly consumed. The runes... The light... Shaking your head harshly, you leave the Poet’s house as hurriedly as you can. A small part of you wonders what the effects of Violant ink are on human flesh and if it makes the sigils more effective. The rest of you resolves to never find out what that d*mn*d blade does to people. Finally outside, you call a cab. That bottled oblivion can’t come soon enough.* Fin~ |
Caustic Apocryphon | 6 | Baited Riddle case? |
Play Chess with the Boatman | 6 | Due to that I have a mental image that the boatman punches you in the face if you lose |
The Sixth Coil (historical) | 6 | "I see. So what I am gathering is that Tiger Keeper is a fursona that was passed from AK to Luke" - Sans Cipher, Kolo-man of culture, 3/8 11:47 UTC https://discord.com/channels/606151996663267338/770266641762091079/1269260416513605732 |
Inroads with a Master – | 6 | i love that mr. transport and mr. cards are sequestered away as the 2X options. "yes, you're very funny with your edge cases and your shenanigans. you shall have to be handled specially." |
Memory of a Much Greater Self | 6 | owo knot |
Hearts' Game (Guide) | 6 | Would it be worth adding a two-or-more stat item section?
Mostly for the two-stats strategies, as, you know, many may forget (or have long ago sold) their Scuttering Squad with their +8 in Shadowy / Dangerous / Watchful, or have passed on their Pair of Kingscale Boots (+8 S / +6 D) or Infiltrator's Footsteps (+8 S / D) for a marginally better Irrigoed-equivalent (The Pair of Forgotten Spidersilk Slippers) ( +9 S), or dismiss their Sturdy Pick (+4 S / +7 D) as a no-good pick (pun intended) in the Late-Game, despite its advantage of dual stats. Not to mention the fate or otherwise End-Game items such as Noman (+ 7 S/D/P/W), the Laconic Prodigy or The Scuttering Scoundrels (+ 10 S/D/W), most of the Fate Feast of the Rose companions, etc. |
Oenophilic Oppression | 6 | Shut up, digestive system. You were the worst skill in Disco Elysium anyhow. |
A Visit | 6 | Repentant Forger gives a Bohemians and a Criminals Favour
Regretful Soldier gives a Docks and a Constables Favour Sardonic Music-Hall Singer gives a Bohemians and a Society Favour Wry Functionary gives a Society and a Great Game Favour |
Resinous Pyrophone | 6 | ocarina of slime |
A Novel Birth-Mark | 6 | not with a bang, but with a whimper. (shame, really. i know a lot of us would've preferred the Masters do more than just give us a hickey.) |
An Investigative Journalist: | 6 | The fact I've hit the cap and still have more clues to find is simultaneously very amusing, and actively hurtful to my motivation to locate more. |
The 6000 BC Grunting Vintner | 5 | To think…we could have had a scene where the FLPC snorts an unknown powder with His Amused Lordship. A shame to think we were so close. |
A Conspiracy of Smugglers | 5 | If you're nonbinary, on the other hand, you can be honest if you want. |
Change your Profile Page Header | 5 | I'm very interested to know what banners will be available in the future. I'd love to throw myself into the strangest locations whenever I want, although the Iremi background is an absolute banger and I doubt I'm changing it anytime soon. |
Sit at the edge of the jetty | 5 | Sitting, at the edge, of the jetty Like the Blue Prophets once said |
You Appear to have Purchased an Extraordinary Number of Weasels of Woe | 5 | I don't need it... I don't need it... I don't need it...
I NEEEEEEED IIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!! |
A Dream of a Thousand Tails | 5 | So I'll have to take some time to type up a full guide to the Fate-locked activity. But initial spreadsheeting is summarized thusly:
Main progress quality is worth 0.20 per point. The "flavour" qualities are worth 2.00 per point. Rewards are paid out in the "banding" structure like dreamers in the Viric Jungle, where it pays out in as many T5 items as fit into the value, and then the remainder is paid out in lower-value items. Probably the most economically-relevant part is that you can efficiently convert Emetic Revelations into Storm-Threnodies. |
Slobgollion | 5 | I am filled with sadness by them not letting me keep that amber. |
Purchase the wax-sealed box on the counter | 5 | It is a sad day for when we lost the breath of the void meme. |
A Commissioned Airship: | 5 |
|
The City Waning | 5 | feels like a good third of the hinterland city content is dedicated to giving you the ability to roleplay as verypeeved |
St Erzulie's Candle | 5 | Mr Eaten mandated waifu? |
Temptation's Presence | 5 | Best quality description ever. |
Advent: A Calendar of Encounters | 5 | Already I miss the old Advent calendar. I loved that it was just like a traditional Advent calendar, except, more...Neathy, & I enjoyed tapping the doors open. Now...it's just not that special. |
The Sixth Coil (Location) | 5 | i hope this is a permanently unlocked activity because holy heck is it a lot to take in |
The Sixth Coil, Unsealed | 5 | Is this just FBG removing Impossible! due to it being a bit immersion breaking, or will we soon be able to access the Sixth Coil? Who knows? I personally hope it's the latter, as that would be very exciting! |
Seeking Mr Eaten's Name (Guide) | 5 | Smen (from Arabic: سمن or سمنة also called sman, semn, semneh, or sminn) is a salted, fermented butter native to North African cuisine (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia), as well as a traditional Yemeni dish. |
A Trading Post at Zenith: False Lights and False-Stars | 5 | Oh, I thought we might get to dip stuff like the Parabola-Linen Frock to match the Nadir’s item upgrades, but a new skull is cool! |
A Worker in the Common Cause | 5 | AND WE ALL LIFT |
Neighbourhood Noctivagant | 5 | It's "Noctivagant", not "Noctavigant" |
London, Falling | 5 | The stone age is coming, the Starved movin' in
Rockfall expected, the flowers are growin' thin Bazaar stops a-humming, but I have no fear 'Cos London has fallen, aye It's fallen already |
An Interloper in the Library | 5 | new 777? |
Seed of the Cedar | 5 | technically, implicitly, though there is no way, and never will be a way to sell this at value, this is a T8. |
A Neon Future | 5 | there was this really evocative wiki comment here about roofscrapers and a new fashion for electroluminescent apparel. one of the most tragic losses of the wipe :< |
Your False-Star | 5 | wanna visit him someday :3c |
Moonlit | 5 |
it's lunacy. that's the joke. god, fucking, dammit. |
Noman | 5 | The comment is attributed to Bede or St. Bede an English monk from the 7th century. I like it so I figured I'd point it out. |
Preparations for a Vast Revel | 5 | One day.... one day we'll vanquish it. I'm putting my bets on 2025 -- er, 1899 (5). |
Cephalopod Satchel | 5 | So this is basically living luggage, right? |
Director's Commemorative Overcoat | 5 | It’s a good coat |
Struggle against the tide of claws | 4 | For what's fair we'll take yours back. |
A Final Choice of Allegiance | 4 | I wasn't sure if the implications of this aside from making the Bazaar sad or not. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it didn't already know this stuff. |
The Rat Market (Guide)/Calculators | 4 | The Rat Market prices have 3 stages, progressively decreasing as more items are sold. Below are outlined the prices and amounts these prices will last, for all three tiers and a special case:
These results are replicable through the use of the above calculators. But for the sake of brevity, I have chosen to outline them here. Paramount Note: The total bonus of 346 is gained regardless of the item tier sold. The information presented is approximated for use in the threshold denomination of guides. |
The Name of Mr Eaten tattoo | 4 | Can we just appreciate that FBG made a 10-action tattoo... That doesn't exist?
A waste of 10 actions for the seeker ready to go, just because? Comedy gold. |
Parabolan Parable | 4 | This is the story of a cat named Stanley. |
Give him to the Hillchanger Tower | 4 | if there's one productive thing the "ai art" bubble has ever done, it's demonstrate the latent horror in a statistical model that agglomerates, draws inferences from, and acts on data without actually *understanding* it. the kind of model which, if spoken to assertively, if given a rich enough context to exist within, will act accordingly, because that's what the data says it should do, no matter what it was doing prior. the hollow facsimiles of personhood, going through the motions because it's what the algorithm spits out, what the data says it should do, but with nothing actually behind the eyes.
there's a little bit of that "tell chatgpt that it is a fish, and it will blub for you" in the Gray Man. and it makes it all the more terrifying. i wonder how many fingers he has on each hand |
Exceedingly Unfortunate Yet Again | 4 | aw hell yeah you get the glim again now? if that's accurate i have a reason to actually try for the vanity now! |
Memory of a Shadow in Varchas | 4 | this is like the one item i want to have a use. i thought irem would bring one but now i have like 10 of these from provenancing artifacts. idk if converting them into oneiric pearls would bee too powerful. but i cant think of anything else. |
Hearts' Game (Guide) | 4 | new king allowing for infinite (?) companions, king of motley
new trophy’s for beating woth all kings, pages, or knights ( with corresponding priest) new quality, counterplay, exists, you may be able to die https://www.fallenlondon.com/profile/Groundbird cant edit in phone |
A Hunter of Zee-Beasts | 4 | I do think the level descriptions are kind of funny for my character specifically, who only goes out “hunting” during some world events.
My name is synonymous with death, there are protesters at the docks… I’ve killed maybe 2 beasts. I mostly help out whales and talk to flukes. |
Having Recurring Dreams: the Forests of the Night | 4 | Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night; ... |
A Tasting Flight of Targeted Toxins | 4 | neathy chemotherapy. expertly crafted to only kill the parts of you that are holding you back |
Troubled Times Recur | 4 | A Pleasure to see you, Cassie. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised a lassie like you hang out with the Tracklayers. |
Go fishing for a riddle | 4 | This list is taken from a compilation by Sacchi on Discord, supplemented with other discussions on there and elsewhere:
|
Allow Hell its hour | 4 | That's a lot of infernal contracts. At least 5,000 given the starting cost of this. Shepherds be drooling at the thought. |
What does it make of your double? | 4 | "You (and therefore your double) are ambitious, busy, always aspiring to one thing and then another."
.....fair, yeah. touché |

Annotate observations, insights, theorems, &c | 4 | ah! house of leaves. |
Mask of the Rose | 4 | wow, funny video game reference! |
Hearts' Game (Guide) | 4 | ive been getting these myself and they can be quite a fun challenge. you have to draft a few times to get proper teams but they force you to be a bit creative.
the Pages distinction is imo the easiest. building up enough preparations to win with a Page can be done without much effort with a Queen and the Priest of Magpies is nice to have but your run isn't dead if he doesn't show up. the Page of Lures arguably prefers the Priest of Briars to Magpies if you have a choice, because he'll eat through your Preparations if you're not careful and there's no other legal sources for multiple Preparations in a single action. Knights are a bit trickier because more than half of them are really support accomplices: Flames, Skin, Nobility, and Livers aren't great as your only DPS so if you grab one be sure to also grab one of Ribs, Talons, and Disintegrities. Queens are great but keep in mind no Knights or Pages give boons so the Fool isn't worth it. The Priest of Smiths is definitely helpful here but like with the Pages you can manage without him. The lack of easy Knight preparations is the hardest part with King teams so particularly Roses isnt great here and Motley is extremely not worth using either. The King of Ambivalences gives an Ace so if you're lucky enough to draw Cod and a Priest it sets you up for a possible Audacities run where the King is actually a support character. For everyone else the most important character is the Priest of Briars by far becaude he's the only legal option that gives two Preparations. As far as I can tell Briars support and Ambivalent Audacity are the only real viable options for this Distinction. the trick with Motley is to pick secondary accomplices that benefit from having a large number of junk cards. the best choice for this are the King of Roses, who can blast enemies with the ton of preparations you build up fishing for better cards, and the Fool of Audacities, because you're likely to pick up boons. For this build all Priests are useful since they interact with the Fool, the Knights of Livers, Skin, and Nobiltiy are useful for building Preparations, Knight of Flames can be helpful in mitigating Tolerance since it'll take you forever to actually be able to strike, and both Queens really help you manage the unwieldy deck. You want to avoid other Kings and all Pages as much as possible since they will only make mediocre progress and fail to buff Motley, Audacities, and Roses The Distinction of Embalming is definitely the hardest. seasonal and fate equipment are pretty much necessary and it's also helpful if youre an exceptional friend to take a break after your first round to pick up a boon from the house of chimes. I got it with Roots/Skin/Cod and the Ace of Queens was super helpful in making it possible to meet KT checks. I suspect the easiest setups likely involve using the Fool of Audacities, Queen of Cod, and a Priest, but it involves a lot of RNG even just beyond the usual draft accomplices. you shoulr absolutely not try to get embalming and another mark at the same time though unless you have really synergistic tools of the trade/spouse/treasure and are very confident. |
Purchase an amount of Hellworm-Riding Boot Polish | 4 | The shopkeeper says this is a wise choice. What other item acquisition tells you how wise it is? Clearly this should be the goal of all FL players. |
Lawful Salvage | 4 | ive gotten wines and jeules (i dont know how that word is spelled but the sparkle rocks) also |
Artistry in the Empress' Court (Guide) | 4 | Your fancy math may say this is not a good farming per action but my smooth brain said big number good. |
Fearful Symmetry | 4 | honestly, this feels like a lame mashup of two heartwrenching moments of last estival. this is the "no, not even you." impossible endure option, combined with the "you do not stand alone" world-quality-locking of the oculus section. and i get that the idea is "with the power of friendship, you don't need to face impossible challenges" but it feels kinda cheap |
A Severed Thread | 4 | But you have no one to blame but yourself. You were warned, after all. |
Ask about his heart's desire | 4 | The last paragraph changes depending on whether or not you've completed Evolution, and the choice you made at the end. This is what the Boatman says if you haven't made the final choice:
"They should be of age now. And yet." The Boatman's gaze is briefly reflected in the water, dark empty sockets lost in the darkness. "Perhaps there has been a complication." His voice cracks, a splinter of melancholic menace. He turns back to the oar. There is always farther to go. If you chose The Heirophant: "But you already know this. You have met the man. He is still youthful, but youth is no ward against death." The Boatman's gaze is briefly reflected in the water, dark empty sockets lost in the darkness. "When he dies, he will sit where I sit. He will row." His voice cracks, a splinter of melancholic menace. He turns back to the oar. There is always farther to go. If you chose The Wheel of Fortune: "But you already know this. You have met the reckless man. He will ruin the Schedule when he replaces me." The Boatman's gaze is briefly reflected in the water, dark empty sockets lost in the darkness. "I should not have played the Marvellous. The Masters make scorpion-bargains, never without a sting." His voice cracks, a splinter of melancholic menace. He turns back to the oar. There is always farther to go. If you chose The Hanged Man: "But you already know this. You have met the man. The Masters braided the Threads of Fate to shape his Destiny." The Boatman's gaze is briefly reflected in the water, dark empty sockets lost in the darkness. "And yet, after these many years, now they say he is unfit. They will have to make other arrangements." His voice cracks, a splinter of melancholic menace. He turns back to the oar. There is always farther to go. |

A Dream of Truth-Strangling | 4 | now, this? this is the real reason to pick HD as your ambition. this is strict best-in-slot for evocativeness, for significance, for meaning. this is a hat you could build a character around. it is a well around which a narrative arc could slingshot. |
The Robe of Mr Cards | 4 | this option is the most trans of all the ambitions, honestly.
"transgender, or transhuman?" yes. but really, there's a really palpable versimilitude to this sort of slow, plodding, piecemeal transformation into a greater and better-fitting self. the prosthetics that function as a temporary relief for all the things that haven't grown in properly yet. the timeline, where one can notice hints of changes but one still isn't quite where one wants to be; but also, the way one's endocrine system is the first to respond to these changes. and the gentle guidance through cultural experiences that one missed out on through the circumstances of one's birth. also, the way the bargain provides both all the resources to pursue social transition immediately (while still leaving the option to don one's baggiest hoodie and humanmode) and all the resources to begin the process of pursuing physical transition feels really, really nice. a wrinkle in the ointment that also feels all too real, though, is the exact way in which others go out of their way to pay lip service to the concept of respecting one's identity, and superficially go through the motions, while not actually putting in the work to be respectful in practice. the way one needs to go just as much out of one's way to get invited to the masters' conclaves as any other londoner is rather telling, and there's a lot of parallels i can draw to my own experiences. finally, as someone very very nonbinary, i'm taking every little insinuation about curatorial anatomy and absolutely, wholeheartedly rolling with it. my gender now |

The Sixth Coil (Guide) | 4 | ESTIVAL GUIDE / SIXTH COIL GUIDE
MECHANICS - You spawn in on one of 4 random "floors", which loop, so 1->2->3->4->1 - Each floor is associated with a main stat - Each floor has a burden that you can pick up - Picking up a burden makes all checks harder; with endgame stats, 3 burdens is still 100%able or close to, 4 burdens is around 70-80% - Almost every action you take except picking up burdens will increment a "coiling" quality - Every action you take will progress a "mapping the labyrinth" quality - MAPPING CAPS AT 40 AND IS THE "REWARD" QUALITY (along with burdens) - Based on RNG, you will have the option to "climb a ladder" or "go down a well". This changes your floor (0-20 airs for ladder, 80-100 airs for well) - When you decide to leave, you will have to start taking movement options to reduce "coiling ever deeper" to 0 to escape. If you have all 4 burdens, you get an extra antique mystery
Basic reward Mapping x 2 MoL Mapping x 10 Cryptic Clue Antique Mystery if 4x burden
2 x Mapping 50p item 10 x Mapping x 2p item 40 x Mapping renown So, Mapping Max Value = 7.6e
17 Enter/Leave, 4 Pickup (39 mapping). 4 cashout, 1a clear menaces 308.9e in 43a = 7.18 EPA Good luck, "optimal" run is almost impossible STRATEGY You want your runs to be a total of 39 or 40 mapping, to ensure none of your actions *dont* generate mapping, which is most of the rewards after burdens To achieve this, 1. Wander each floor until you can pick up the floor's burden 2. Wait until a "ladder" or "well" shows up to bring you up or down a floor 3. Remember your first "up/down" movement, you want to only take that movement from now on 4. Repeat steps 1-2 until you've managed to collect all 4 burdens, OR your Coiling+Mapping >= 39 4.1. If you manage to get to your 4th burden before reaching 17 coiling, then hang around on that floor without picking up the burden until you hit 17 coiling. This keeps your checks easier until it's time to leave, then take the burden and leave 4.2. If your stats can't handle all 4 burdens, only take as many burdens as you can manage, and just wander around to step 5, a final exit probability of around 70%+ is acceptable 5. When your Coiling + Mapping >= 39, It's time to leave. 5.1. If you have the rng option to get your next floor to get another burden, it IS worth grabbing that and wasting a few non-mapping actions, otherwise, it's not worth rolling the rng chance to try to get it 6. LEAVE Extra Notes : Always take the MoL consuming option if it's a higher chance to succeed than your regular options, it's worth it The reason we leave at >= 39 is due to parity, we start the maze with 1 coiling already, we take a total of 4 burdens, which raises mapping+coiling to 5, and then, each additional coiling action we do raises mapping+coiling by 2, when we get to 39, the next action we take only provides us with 1 extra mapping for 2 actions instead of 1 action, which is not worth it.| The above does not apply if you're a newer player and only taking 1 or 3 burdens Take the weird "door" option if you see it while going forward, it appears at airs 100, increases your mapping by 2, and doesn't increase coiling, it is insane value |
Diptych Painter | 4 | One wonders whether he's another Fingerking stooge, or something stranger. |

Starved Expression | 4 | now what kind of cheese will *this* hellworm exudate permit? |
Starveling Cat | 4 | I had a moody cat once. This is like her, blown just slightly out of proportion. I miss her so, and lowkey cheer at everything this cat does. |
Glim-Encrusted Carapace | 4 | Once we get a proper source of them these might make insects a viable skeleton to make for profit. |

Buttered Chess-Piece | 3 | how does the butter stay on when i send this through the mail? |

Examine a sealed door to the (direction) | 3 | this, as with all matters of the bazaar, is a love story. i wish the tigerking well. |
Fruits of the Zee Festival (Guide) | 3 | word of advice for new players who may not already have one; the A Faceted Decanter of Drownie Effluvia is much more useful then just the +5 shadowy. if you have the effluvia and at least a small amount of KT (i forget the number; but i can 100% every time and have been able to for a while) you can get a very reliable troubled waters decrease while zailing. if you dont have one yet i would defo be aiming for it :D |

Give a significant donation to her charity for the homeless | 3 | I just kinda really like doing this option, she gave me a room when I was straight out of prison
Why cannot I offer her a sip of cider and a goat friend? Actually, we should do more charity work altogether, both ingame and out. |
A new wind | 3 | Spam from Mr Eaten |
Aurochs-Fur Coat | 3 | If any stores sell an article of clothing as an Aurochs-Fur Coat I will buy it instantly |
Combine Greek and Latin | 3 | Assuming the Latin roots "hirsus" and "tempus", and the Greek "logo", "hirsulogotempography" is something like "creating and recording hairy new words". Good luck writing that in Correspondence without igniting the room. There isn't even a word in German, the language with weirdly specific words for a dozen other obscure philosophical concepts. Truly, the PC's conduct here is beyond the pale. |
Tatterskin Shawl | 3 | I like to imagine that when you're not wearing this you look like a fucking horrifying skinless man with exposed musculature. |
Eliminate pests | 3 | I'm not up to figuring out how to incorporate this, but with a Rose-Bearing Maggot, you get additional text on a success: "Your Rose-Bearing Maggot looks on from a safe distance, as mournful as a maggot can be." https://www.fallenlondon.com/profile/Cubane/36265618 |
A Neon Future | 3 | it's fun how, unlike other cyberpunk cities where the gloom and darkness that make the neon advertisements really pop is a product of inexplicably-perpetual rainy weather, in fallen berlin it comes entirely naturally as a product of being underground |
Weasel of Woe | 3 | Since the cards Forgotten Glamours et al. disappear when your respective modified stat is low enough, this is an excellent way of dismissing the Eyeless Skull cards if you don't want to permanently lower your stats. |
Pet a lamp-cat | 3 | This is officially the best action in the entire game. You can pet the cats. |
Insubstantial | 3 | Looking out for additional sources of this. Very appropriate for my main toon. |
Attempt to wake | 3 | No actions, one memory of light, literally an unlimited EPA. Of course there are a few problems with this, one being it's card-based, the other being that you can never start Firmament without it, but those are small potatoes compared to the fun of playing the game wrong for profit. |
Warn London of the dangers of the Games | 3 | As I recall this is currently the best way to farm Adrift if you just want more of those for rp value, so there's that I suppose. |
The Hanged Man | 3 | gender was a limiting part of myself. in its sacrifice, i flourish |
A Glabrous Nymph | 3 | A technical adjective for a surface, usually skin, that is smooth and lacking hair, fur, down, etc.. Specifically carries the connotation of skin that has never had hair, such as our young nymph here. who has yet to grow a beard. (Character may not be as he appears in image.)
The unusual word choice is itself significant; "glabrous" is more typically used to refer to leaves, and devils have a strong symbolic association with flowers... |
Tin of Murgatroyd's Jellied Mushroom Cakes | 3 | this item makes me viscerally uncomfortable. of all the horrors of the neath, this is the one which does it for me. dining on human flesh and developing a hunger for self-destruction? fine with me! spiders which eat eyeballs, and wasps which nest in them? what fun! getting hollowed out, insides replaced with wax, and being turned wholly into an imperfect simulacrum, almost a parody of what one once was, with any continuity of the self only vaguely in the most abstract sense maintained by sigils and treacheries? sure, why not!
but eating mold? *fuzzy* mold, and a thick layer of it *covering* a biscuit? now that's unthinkable. that's several steps too far. hell, i'm okay with that one de gustibus guy who eats power drills and concepts. but mold is too much. shame, because deck refreshes are useful :< |

Offering Riches to the Court | 3 | It goes from "The Court appreciates your offerings."
to "The Court is starting to appreciate your offerings a little less." then "The Court is bored of such offerings. They'll still take them, of course." |
Committed: | 3 | i still strongly believe that poly relationships should give Committed 2. then one can check for any relationship with 1+, or have a mono and a poly branch checking for exactly 1 and 2. it's more *scalable* than hardcoding exceptions and explicit checks for the only two poly marriages in the game |

Advent: A Calendar of Encounters | 3 | Another year in London already, this year really was a blur. |
Caustic Apocryphon | 3 | "Apocryphon" has religious overtones, and while "caustic" usually refers to chemical burns or corrosive substances, I believe it originally meant "combustible" or "burning". So religion + fire = Hell?
The Advent Calendar text saying it "causes ink to run, and words to shift and change" makes me think of the Iron Republic, although I suppose they're more about new laws changing the way things are than about altering records of how things were. One of the Marigold Knights was a historian exiled for trying to "create a comprehensive analysis of the revolution", contrary to Hell which "rewrites its doctrine regularly". It's not much of a leap from there to rewriting history ... |

Weasel of Woe | 3 | I can fail challenges easier. Best companion, now I can royally screw up *exactly* when I want to |
Make an example of a particularly ill-tempered weasel | 3 | this is 150 moonpearls for 4 echoes, on average, making each moon-pearl cost 2.66 pence; this is marginally cheaper than buying them at the bazaar, and the wounds are negligible when amortized.
so: screw being a woeseller! the real vanity is staying at 399 woesels, so that whenever one is in need of pearls beyond price, one can become a woe-seller. :3 |
Is your duplicate content? | 3 | I find it funny that if you're a poet laureate it implies everyone in the city speaks in poetry even if they don't intend to. They might not even realise it if you don't point it out to them. The city is basically an enforced version of Fallen London: The Musical. Even in the most petty matters the Neath is weird and I love it. |
Stop and look through | 3 | You’re telling me the library is in, you could say, The Woods? And these woods are in… Wintertime? HAVE WE FINALLY FOUND THE WOODS IN WINTER? |

Nyx-class Zubmersible | 3 | I was part of the old guard. I grinded 20 Whirring Contraptions during the dark old days, when Wilmot's End gave you ONE per 2 Dramatic Tension.
Giving up my original zub hurt real bad. But the old must give way to the new. The extra BDR doesn't hurt, either. |
Memories of Evolution | 3 | what about people who have already completed evolution |
Cook the local cuisine | 3 | There's a sense of triumph that I love about this. After all this time, after all this blood and sweat, everyone gets to be fed, and fed well. No one goes hungry. No one has to make do here. It's really sweet. |
Matters of Identity: Noun | 3 | good to know that, canonically, this is a thing that can be twiddled with nary a flick of a pen. god i fucking wish i lived in this universe |

Employ the services of the Clay Corroborator | 3 | Can confirm it is -7CP, went from 4 Suspicion with nothing else to 2 Suspicion flat. |
Caustic Apocryphon | 3 | I'll just throw in my two cents that I think the "history" in reference here is personal, not grand. My pet theory is this item is foreshadowing the ability to replay/play other Ambitions, possibly through Parabola. That is one of the few planned bits from Metempsychosis that still isn't in the game in any form. |
Sit at the edge of the jetty | 3 | "The zee calls to us. If we do not destroy ourselves, we shall one day venture to her shores." |
Lingering Excitation | 3 | I've obtained this quality |
A Final Choice of Allegiance | 3 | Mechanically, there is no difference whatsoever, since neither reward has a use. That being said, the whole storyline left me kinda frustrated: everyone is treating the Bazaar as if they were a child. Or a harmless housewife. They are not: massive populations depend on them. We've already seen that forcing them to work with incomplete information has horrible consequences, and their b----y feelings can't be more important than all the lives at stake. |
The Sinking Synod | 3 | An award-winning summary: Brawling bishops bicker bitterly and biblically over blemmigan- and bolete-filled bogland. Back a bloc, bring balance by becoming a bogus Bishop, or belay the business and befriend the bothered Bugsby. |
Advanced Skills (Guide) | 3 | "art that guards against deception, denial, delusion, and doubt", oh the Mithridacy hate is strong in this one. |
Chapter in your Memoirs | 3 | So now that I have one completed volume of my memoirs written this thing cannot be realized anywhere? A shame. |
Counterfeit your own significance | 3 | all of these actions are so *weighty*. so much Happens in each of them. a sevenfold lab grind, a heist above all heists, all in a single button press. every single CP of Mind's Ascent feels like the sort of thing one would have to go through an entire ambition subsection, a tiny knife-gate, for. but no, it's just an action and a damnably hard skill check. |
Newly-Born Frost-Moth | 3 | Milt?
Mold? Mald? Moor? Meer? Mist? Must? Musk? Mily? Mill? Mays? Baron Billy Mays? |
Shifting Streets (Storylet) | 3 | Genuinely surprised there doesn't seem to be a First City option. i was sure one would reveal itself when the event tracker got low enough. |
Zenith | 3 | Zenith doesn't believe in commerce, apparently. |
Breeding Monsters (Guide) | 3 | If you're considering purchasing the Formula to get the beasts (and not just for the story), here are the highlights:
Firstly, none of the 5 beasts are particularly good in main stats. Don’t use the card-based selling options either, just sell them normally. The Ocelot’s card helps immensely when you’re grinding SotC to 10, and saves a typewriter when setting up your newspaper for the first time. After that, the value is minimal. The Dream-Hound’s two cards are amazing (4E of honey and a full Wounds heal), and saves you a Bengal Tigress when upgrading your Parabolan defenses (same as the Dream-Dwelling Carnivorous Aurochs from Whitsun). Get this one first. The Stallion’s required to move the story along, its card is good if you like to gamble, and you can hide the card much later in the game. The Toadbeast... is part of the Owl. And finally, the Owl is tied with the Ubergoat for BDR at +4, exactly 1 more than all of the top-tier Whitsun beasts. It can also assist with the SotC grind, if you're not already done by the time you get rid of the Ocelot. |
Press for a harsh sentence | 3 | Debts take many forms. Debts of honour. Of money, obviously. Blood. And then there are the debts of greater and more terrible natures. And a debt – no matter how great, no matter how terrible – must be repaid in full. |
Buy a fine lodging | 3 | wow, rude. i was hoping for a 4 card remote address :< |
Make a terrible deal | 3 | You can't possibly need Silken Warp this badly. You will regret this choice. |
Oenophilic Oppression | 3 | Almost all of it tastes exactly the same too. White or red. |
Tatterskin Shawl | 3 | How comes? Did it use to give an advanced skill, while Lyon didn't? |
Menaces (Guide) | 3 | Is scandal the hardest to reduce? Especially for a Early PoSI. |
The Victim of an Unfortunate Accident | 3 | If you are foolish enough to be engaged in a rather unwise course of actions, this is perhaps the most fitting manner in which to die at zee. |

A Paramount Presence (Guide) | 3 | Finally made it! |
Conclude a volume of your memoirs | 3 | Just a shame I’m already an Endgame player and have already done everything that gives Memoir chapters. Hopefully the City in Silver gives at least one. |
Supervise a visit from the Castellan of Balmoral (September) | 3 | Starting to get the impression that being March on the Calendar Council has some resemblance to being the drummer for Spinal Tap. |

Struggle against the tide of teeth | 3 | Take our skins and make a coat... |
Revelations of Divine Love | 3 | For those of you not in the know about 14th century English Christian literature, Revelations of Divine Love was a book written by Julian of Norwich, who was an anchoress that most likely inspired the Legacy of the Anchoress philosophy in Fallen London, and the first person to write All Shall Be Well and All Shall Be Well and All Manner of Thing Shall Be Well. Not to be confused with the other Anchoress, who doesn't live in No Castle. |

Running out of Terms | 3 | If you accept the definition of a word is some letters surronded by a gap, then xnopyt, aaaaaaajjjjjjjjjj, and hrrkrkrkrwpfrbrbrbrlablblblblbwhitoo'ap are all words, despite being pretty much meaningless. |
The Ennui of Victory | 3 | flpcs when there's no 777s left to grind (they have done everything they can do at least seven hundred and seventy seven times) |

The Sixth Coil (Location) | 3 | https://imgur.com/a/RJUmnG0 |
Hellworm (Guide) | 3 | To quote the article itself:
"Why Should I Bother? (...) Stupid question. 'Because I can'." Anybody who buys a hellworm may as well go for 7 Hellworm Boot Polish tins. There's no reason not to. In fact, just go for 777 Boot Polish tins, because you can. |

Surprise them | 3 | I love to see stuff about daily life in the Neath, and I’m very happy that My Lackey keeps in touch with his family. He may not have firm loyalties, motivations, or a name, but he's still lovely. |
Rewards from the Page | 3 | It looks like the new option to get the Ichorous Alarm disappears after you get it, at least for me, but the one for the Honest Butcher's Tool has stuck around. I got it in the first season, but it still shows up only locked. Anyone else seeing this? |
Disgraced exile in the Tomb-Colonies | 3 | I got exiled during estival 😭😭 |
Act as guide for visitors from the Koloman Republic | 3 | Ah yes, certainly we, with our octopus backpacks and flying kraken and extra eyes, will put these scared Surfacers at ease. |
Piracy (Guide) | 3 | "An aspiring corsair seeking to become The Left Hand of Prophecy is advised to become obstinate, at least until their stats are high enough to reliably 100% checks, at which point a Nyx is probably preferable."
As a Corsair who can reliably 100% all checks aside from highway stat checks in the Snares, I can safely say you want to stick with Obstinate regardless, especially if you're grinding Zhip-hunts or Zee-hunts. There's nothing wrong with picking a Zub for fun or roleplaying, but as a Corsair, you WILL be taking on a lot of Troubled Waters even on successes. And thanks to the fact you will very rarely get Zee-menaces from your constant successes, it can lead to dangerous situations of being at 7 TW and having no cards that can lower your TW. |
Adopt a pair of Winsome Dispossessed Orphans | 3 | Oh, you certainly will travel overseas, little orphans. You can go live in that secret kingdom on the Elder Continent where all the good little orphans go. WHAT? NO! I'm not going to kill you! I'm sending you to live with the tigers, obviously! Lyon Pursuivant of Arms Extraordinary | 3 | In the words of Jennifer Streck writing for Hewlett Packard Enterprise Community: "When it comes to Digital Experiences, be a cat". I am glad Fallen London allows this advice to be manifest in a substantially more literal manner than mayhaps originally intended. |
Sap of the Cedar at the Crossroads | 3 | You can also now get this from convincing the Creditor to not be upset anymore if you didn't choose Furnace to make the city |
