Early Railway Content and Onwards |
As a player completes stations along the Great Hell-Bound Railway, short Railway, they will encounter a number of opportunities to improve those stations. As completing stations is a very expensive project, typically costing between 500 and 2750 Hinterland Scrip each, this guide seeks to explain the various benefits of each station's improvements. In all, improving everything should cost 8675 or 9375 depending on statue choices.
Basic Information[edit]
Unless otherwise noted, improvements at each station follow the following cost formula:

Improvements to Ealing Gardens[edit]
The total cost to build everything in Ealing Gardens is 1050 , plus several miscellaneous items depending on the passenger lounge conversion. When finished, you will have Ealing Gardens Development: 6.

When you have finished building everything, you will have Jericho Locks Development: 5.

The total cost to build everything in The Magistracy of the Evenlode is 750 . When you have finished building everything, you will have Magistracy of the Evenlode Development: 5.

The total cost to build everything in Balmoral is 1050 . The main improvement is the construction of a Cabinet Noir which can be used to create Cover identities. When you have finished building everything, you will have Balmoral Development: 6.

Improvements to Station VIII[edit]
The total cost to build everything in Station VIII is 1575 , plus 1 x Halcyonic Tonic, 1 x Fillip of Effervescence, and 1 x Crystallised Euphoria to finish the kitchen. The first set of improvements are required to gain access to the factory in general. Otherwise the main use of improvements here is for the A Kitchen for Artists activity. When you have finished building everything, you will have Station VIII Development: 7.

Improvements to Moulin[edit]
The total cost to build everything in Moulin is 500 . The main thing to build here is the Achaeological Institute so that you can write monographs from items acquired in the wastes. When you have finished building everything, you will have Moulin Development: 4.

Improvements to The Hurlers[edit]
The total cost to build everything in The Hurlers is 2750 , 3 x Hillmover, 2 x Strong-Backed Labour, and 10000 x Foxfire Candle Stub.
- If, after robbing the Calculating Lapidiary with Hurlers Commercial Development 3, you trade the Hideous Promissory Note to Mr. Stones for an invitation to Lowell's Locks & Cages, this will reset all progress on Hurlers Commercial Development. The cost of rebuilding the trading post scales sharply with Hurlers Development, so you may want to do this before making any non-Commercial improvements.
- The storyline unlocked by Stoking the Stove too much can, depending on your choices, reset Hurlers Thermal Development. As above, the cost of rebuilding scales with Hurlers Development, though not nearly so sharply.

Improvements to Marigold[edit]
Typically at Marigold Station there is only one improvement that can be made, and that is picking a statue for 50 . That said, if you built a statue of yourself at all stations, there is one additional option available, bringing the total cost to 750 and items totaling 1662.50
