This guide explains how to obtain the items from The Unsanctioned Relicker in The Medusa's Head, and the best grinding strategies.

Unlocking the Unsanctioned Relicker

First, you will need to unlock the Medusa's head. To do so, you must increase A Name Scrawled in Blood. For details, see Making Your Name (Guide). You will also need all 4 main stats at 25. This should be fairly easy to achieve, but if you really need this fast, see Leveling_(Guide).

The Items

The "peer items" section is for items with the same stats that may be easier to obtain.

Sheaf of Poetic First Drafts (From The stack of ink-stained papers)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 10 touching love stories. These can be obtained from:
  • Crow-Crease Cryptics in the Rat market.
  • As a reward for disposing 30 treasures from pickpocketing. (see The Crowds of Spite (Guide))
  • Upconverting Memories of Light Memory of Light

• Uses: This item can be used to obtain 3 Favourable Circumstance.

Rusty Census-Taker's Badge (From The antique lapel pin)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 5 Captivating Ballads. These can be obtained from:
  • Sending an unfinished man to the Mahogany Hall (Underclay (Guide))
  • Doing The shaded estate on Hemlock Row heist; costs Hiding Place of a Peculiar Item. See (On a Heist (Guide))
  • Grinding guide
• Stats: Persuasive +5 Respectable +2 (Shared best-in-slot for Persuasive, Respectable, and BDR.)
• Peer Items: Twelve-Carat Diamond Ring for 350 echoes (Persuasive), Carnelian Sapphire Pendant for 150 echoes (Respectable) but increases Scandal build-up.

Flawless Hand Mirror (From The engraved mirror)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 1 Searing Enigma. This can be obtained from:
  • Sending an unfinished man to teach Second City History (Underclay (Guide))
  • Expeditions to the Chacolite Pagoda
  • Spending 20 Tribute on Join the Minister of Enigmas for teatime
  • Converse on the Correspondence; with Curator's Gratitude obtained as described in the guide, this requires around 19.6 actions per enigma.

• Stats: Persuasive +3 Watchful +3 Shadowy +3 Dangerous +3
• Peer Items: Pair of Spiderchitin Gauntlets for 12.80 echoes (Dangerous +5, but -1 Persuasive), Pair of Dancemaster's Dabs for 12.80 echoes (Persuasive +5, but -1 Dangerous), Pair of Cracksman's Mittens for 12.80 echoes (Shadowy +4, but -1 Persuasive), Avid Glove for 12.80 echoes (Watchful +5, but -1 Shadowy),

Portable Lamp-Post (From The lamp post)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 2 Night-Whispers. These can be obtained from:
  • Expeditions to The Sanctuary of the Crimson Petals 2 about 17% of the time, or A Shrine of the Deep Blue Heaven 12.5% of the time, which takes half as many supplies. See Forgotten Quarter Expeditions (Guide) for more information.
  • At the court of the Wakeful Eye, for 20 Tribute each when you Enjoy a bubbling hookah with the Minister of Culture.
  • Grinding guide
• Stats: Watchful +2 Respectable +2 (Shared best-in-slot for Respectable and BDR)
• Peer Items: Tiger-Furred Oneiropompic Stave for Respectable (See Oneiropomp (Guide)). For Watchful, there are certain Christmas items, or you could just go for a Naturalist's Map (Evolution (Guide)).

Selection of Garish Fireworks (From The box stamped 'DANGER: HIGH EXPLOSIVE')

• Requirements: Taking this requires 5 Antique Mysteries. These can be obtained from:
  • Steal an Antique Mystery from Feducci, 1 mystery per 32 CP of Casing.
  • 3 at a time for breeding the Plated Seal with just keeping away devils; requires at least 8 actions and a Plated Seal.
  • 1 for Converse on the Correspondence; with Curator's Gratitude obtained as described in the guide, this requires around 17.8 actions per mystery.

• Stats: Shadowy +2 Dangerous +5
• Peer Items: Ravenglass Knife for Dangerous (102.4 echoes). For Shadowy, a Set of Kifers (64.80) is equally good.

Shuttered Cake (From The Shuttered Cake)

• Requirements: Taking this requires a Mortification of a Great Power. This can be obtained from:
  • Send an inordinately enormous stack of documents to Mount Palmerston; requires at least 18 actions per mortification. See The Sunken Embassy (Guide) for more information.
  • The Enforce your demands ending of the A Second City Vengeance campaign; see Parabolan War (Guide) for more information.
  • Grinding guide
• Stats: +5 Persuasive and +1 Dreaded. This might be useful for people who just became POSIs and need BDR, but it is mostly useless.

Judgemental Hat (From The Judgemental Hat)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 5 Chimerical Archives. These can be obtained from:
  • ...a Chimerical Archive, from On a Heist gives 1
  • Acquire a collection of books from Moulin gives 1
• Stats: Persuasive +8, Bizarre +1. The BDR is earlygame utility, and the Persuasive bonus is useful for those who don't want to buy expensive hats from the Bazaar.

Cloven Seal (From The Cloven Seal)

• Requirements: Taking this requires a Vial of Masters' Blood. This can be obtained from:
  • Upconverting x 5 Vial of Tears of the Bazaar at a cost of x 7 Notability with A dangerous deal on A Presumptuous Little Opportunity;
  • 1 in 32 chance of receiving one when milking a hellworm (requires Your Very Own Miniature Hellworm or Your Very Own Miniature Hellworm, Saddled and Bridled).
  • Trading 156,250 Hinterland Prosperity for 1 from the card A Visit from Virginia in The City of the Tracklayers; with maximum Hinterland Efficiency, this takes in the vicinity of 300 actions.
• Stats: Dangerous +3, Bizarre +1. The Dangerous is negligible for a weapon, but the BDR is useful if you don't have anything else.

Admiral's Hat (From The Admiral's Hat)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 3 Relatively Safe Zee Lanes. These can be obtained from:
  • Upconverting Puzzling Maps.

Gaider's Mourn

• • 1 for Exchange some plunder for a Relatively Safe Zee Lane in Gaider's Mourn ; costs 6250 x Stashed Treasure. See Piracy (Guide) for details.
• Stats: -3 Persuasive, +1 Respectable, +1 Zeefaring. Best-in-slot for Zeefaring.

Weighty Postlapsarian Romance (From The Weighty Postlapsarian Romance)

• Requirements: Taking this requires a Bright Brass Skull. This can be obtained from:
  • Buying it from the Bazaar (Merrigans exchange) for 62.50
  • 2 for completing an expedition to the Sanctuary of the Crimson Petals; see Forgotten Quarter Expeditions (Guide) for more information.
• Stats: Watchful +5, Persuasive +3, Respectable +1. A good mid-game weapon.

Clay Effigy (From The Clay Effigy)

• Requirements: Taking this requires 6 Magnificent Diamonds. These can be obtained from:
  • 2 when you Vote a dividend to the shareholders in Moloch Street; adds at least 5 CP of In Corporate Debt.

On a Heist

• • 1 for Take a series on the succession laws of Arbor when robbing The Circumspect Envoy's Townhouse; see On a Heist (Guide) for more information.
  • 1 for Keep her secret. It's only fair. when robbing The Balustraded House in Elderwick. Requires 5x Favours: Criminals; see On a Heist (Guide) for more information.
  • 1 for Deliver the crate to the Widow from The Copper Quarter; costs either x 1 Favours: Criminals, x 10 Assortment of Khaganian Coinage or x 170 Fistful of Surface Currency per crate, and only 3 may be transported from the Khanate to London at a time. Alternatively, cracking open a crate has a 1 in 10 chance of giving 3.
• Stats: Watchful +3, Bizarre +1. Home Comforts are rare, but this one has mediocre stats. Good if you don't already have anything better.
